FPV : 900MHz Vs 5,8GHz

<< < (3/4) > >>

ujjwaana:

1. Avoid cops all the time. Dont fly near political establishments, Army areas. As far as possible fly early morning , unless you want to capture the chaos in the streets. A local friend speaking local language is not necessary, but highly recommended. You can find RC folks from major cities on this forum itself. Take them along

2. Prefer 433Mhz, 1.2GHz,  2.4GHz and 5.8GHz.  The cellular network on 2G GSM still heavily uses the 900Mhz band, so avoid it as it may cause issue in crowded areas.

3. Flying in popular monument under direct vigilance of security agencies is invitation of trouble. Taj is arguably the most famous and prized destination in India, so please avoid it. Asking permission from cops may lead you into bigger trouble, as they might ask more questions as Aeromdeling/RC planes as a Hobby itself is a grey area in this country. The police might or might not take it in a lighter way and put  you in a trouble.
Most of us here fly normal RC planes (Sans FPV) out of cities/crowded areas where the interference from cops is minimal or even absent (outside city limits).

Also more you go towards 900mhz, the more servo gitters and gps lock problems.

I have had this problem when  a highpower 1.5 watt  Video Tx has been in very close proximity to the rc receiver , this happens irrespective of the frequency , solved it in the case of an ezstar by  placing the RC receiver on the tail plane and the Video Tx  in the inside of the canopy. I was told by a RF expert  that this is possible due to radio freq. masking due to the fact that a highpower transmitter was in the proximity of the receiver of a low power transmission :headscratch:

sundaram:
Any frequency high power transmitter antenna masking a close proximity, totally different frequency  receiver antenna is a reality. One has to take precaution to avoid it.
