Title: Fried my FS-I6s radio by Reverse Polarity. (Help me Out)
Post by: YashasR on September 06, 2017, 04:39:07 PM
:help: :help: :help: Today when I was inserting the batteries in my remote, I noticed a orange glow and burning smell from the connector area. I instantly took out the battery and this happened for about 2 seconds. Then I agained tried with the correct polarity and it didnt switch on. :banghead: I have attached some pictures of the Transmitter and the circuits. Visually, I can only see the fried capacitor. I read many more forums on this issue based on similar transmitters from this manafacturer. In most of the cases there is problem in the voltage regulator and the capacitor.

Please do check them if anyone wants to for reference and help me out, I have no idea what has been damaged apart from the capacitor. :'(
Some Component Details Used in this :
Voltage Regulator : 6206A (Not sure but I think it is a 3.3v regulator as I saw at some places on the net)
Capacitor (which I guessed by a similar sized capacitor located near it but I am not sure) : 476A (10v 47uf)

Request Banggood to name it as PCB board and it should come through without Customs Duty in ordinary registered post

To tell you the truth, I didn't realise the link was for TH9. My apologies

It looks like you have a burned capacitor on it according to the PCB picture from the link below.

If you can see there is an identical capacitor nearby. Now you can buy the similar capacitor in local market and should replace the damaged one. You can even buy the regulators so that in case if they are blown out too you can replace them as well. But as per your pictures they look fine.

Thanks for that image but I am not able to read the figures on the capacitor in the which is burnt in mine because its not so clear. Could you post a zoomed pic of that so that I can read it, or could you give the link to the site of this image? That picture can be really helpful to me.
Thanks

Regards
Yashas

Both are 47uf tantalum capacitors.
476A (10v 47uf)

I will order the parts as soon as possible and will post a update if it works or not. If anyone has something more to share, please do. All the participation of the members was really appreciated. :)

Just desolder the capacitor and clean any traces of burning. Probe across the capacitor terminal at the pads to check if any short exists.. then power on and see if it works. If it doesn't, adding a new capacitor might not help in that case.

I am selling this TX with the USB Cable, CD Manual, Throttle Center Kit, and a Manual.
Price without FS-IA6 receiver : 2400/-
Price with receiver : 2900/-
You can use this to make your own transmitter and it's receiver using NRF24L01 and Arduino which can support more than 32ch and will work on ppm.
Go to this post by me for more details.
