That is truly great news !  Congratulations Sunil/Indian Hobbies  Thumbs Up

It goes to show that such approval is possible with perseverance. Hope other radio importers follow suit too !

One question that still remains is whether all DX6i's are now automatically type approved, if the specifications are the same?  Or is it only when purchased from the vendor who obtained the approval ?

Good Question Anwar. Only radios purchased from Indian Hobbies with invoice will be considered as legal import and hence approved.

What certificate you provide to individual buyer in that case ? an attested copy photo of WPC approval ? Or one has to take route of IndianHobbies along with the Bill/invoice in any eventualities ?

Thanks

That question came to my mind too. Is the legal invoice just enough to prove the radio is WPC certified ? Or is some kind of certification given to the end customer also ?

Question, how come a Tx/Rx is legal whereas the legality of the hobby itself is a unknown?

Not sure what is the source of that  Head Scratching

The fact that 27Mhz is approved for aeromodelling would be direct indication that the hobby itself is legal, as long as legally approved equipment is used.

Pardon me for being crude, but "eventualities" (and that's not just RC) are most likely to be handled by using another type of certificate, the one that tends to fit in your purse Sad

Did we not have many instances of cases where the authorities were questioning whether we have DGCA approval or not? So my question was from the angle that just having a clearance on the Tx/Rx may not be enough. There are multiple offices involved and not just WPC.

That leaves you with 99.999% of the people (or some number like that), who have radios in India. The rest have bought their radios from Indian Hobbies in the very recent past (or was it just today and going forward ?).

In short, relax Grin

Ya that certificate has Nation's Paa's pic on it Cheesy. But if that so called WPC certificate is no good to save one from part of those eventualities and still need shelling r$ to Authorities, I would rather don't care WPC crap and get my choice of Tx/Rx system.

A WPC approved radio has its value in terms of legality  Thumbs Up

These "eventualities" are typically more about where you are flying etc and less about radios. One place where you have to deal with such an eventuality is while importing radios, but then WPC approval is strictly an internal thing (LHS only, unless you want to get one yourself).

And I was just assuring SunilJoseph that his circumstances have not changed/deteriorated, and he has plenty of buddies in the same boat Smiley

did anyone check the document i attached? it is from WPC and the highlighted line seems to sugges that we do not require any license to operate 2.4GHz radios - for what ever the document is worth, this might be useful

Pankaj - This has been discussed to death and then some !  Read the fine print.  It say the spektrum is delicensed, but the equipment still needs type approval.  Just search here Wink

HI Pankaj,

Check out this link for your question - http://indianhobbies.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_36&products_id=304

Note - ** The AR6110e receiver is not compatible with the DX6 park flyer radio system.

Congrats Sunil  Clap..  I believe we had a word regarding this a couple of months back and you had said that you have submitted a DX6I Radio to our govt. for approval..Great Stuff  Thumbs Up.

Kudos to all the people who must have helped you in obtaining the license for radios..Seemed impossible but you did it  Thumbs Up

Cheers

There is significant differences between DX6 and DX6i, the first is DSM1 and the second one is DSM2.  Since the AR6110E is a DSM2 reciever, it is compatible with the DX6i.

See the first few lines in this manual : http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/images/0-SPMAR6110_Manual.pdf

DCGA approval etc are all local issues, and does not have much do to with the legality of the hobby. That is just an issue of *where you chose to fly".

Also, we are diverting from the topic.

Ujjwal's question is interesting though, in terms of what a user should carry with him while going to fly, even with a WPC type-approved radio ?
