Title: HELP HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE BINDING OF MY RADIO
Post by: rajaram on October 10, 2011, 05:53:24 PM
This is a post for a rc india member who is currently having problems binding the radio with the receiver
tried the normal ways of binding which we follow but still no response
the radio response in always except when it comes to binding it says .. eh?? what is this

this problem started after i connected the JR X9303 (2.4) to interlink elite controller (Futaba) through the trainer cable  to play the g4.5 simulator  . Now i presume it still thinks its in the computer mode ,,apart from new binding it not even recognizes the previous old bind

can some one suggest me a solution

 ??? ??? ??? ???

Rajaram
your antenna connection could be broken / Burnt. did the radio fall ? open and see if it is isnt proceed from there, mostly it is the broken antenna from there

i opened the radio...no visible break at all...some signal transmission issue...please help

Title: JR X9303 (2.4) Binding Issue
Post by: jayps on October 10, 2011, 07:49:45 PM
the JR x9303 (2.4), now would not bind with with its earlier memories (2 Acros), also tried to rebind but the green led would not blink while pressed & starting the Tx ,
I had recently connected this JR tx with Realflight's interlink with a trainer cord (i connected now also...the JRtx works fine with the simulater  :headscratch: :headscratch:)

Kindly respond with some ideas to get this JR Tx 9303 working :headscratch:

a very basic question... did you try to open a new model in the tx and bind the tx/rx... ? i had isses like this similar with my DX7 but resolved by opening a new model and binding it..

Change your antenna to any 2.4 ghz antenna (wifi antenna) from your modem and see, should work,

@rc Bazaar, yes i selected a new model too..the basic problem is my Tx JR x9303...does not get to the binding mode at all...(The LED behind the Tx does not blink...like normal binding process)
@Augustin, will try...but you think this "antenna" would effect the "board process", also tell me if the antenna is dual core wiring inside??? i can see 2 separated metals at the plug point??? (single wire 2 core?)

the sheath should be one and the core the other., AFAIK it cant be one wire, won't the board burn ?. i will flag this to sandy, he is an expert at this, electrical and electronic engineer and all, hold your thoughts till sandy responds

:salute: Augustine, today with the Multimeter we did he following, Antenna wire is 2 core & not shorted...on thursday morning the entire PCB will be checked buy a local engineer in my presence :banghead: to trace for any component breakup like the micro resistors & capacitors (except the IC)...hopefully we also get some idea from your friend Sandy!... :hatsoff:

Downloaded your manual. Your's trainer/sim port is a Mono Jack.

Since this problem has started after you used a new cable adapter for sim.

I believe you must have used a slightly more thicker Pin adapter cable and forcibly inserted the PIN in your DSC socket thereby loosening the internal connectors which is not making connection with the internal pins even after the mono jack pin is removed from your Mono Jack.

Say some thing like when you insert the headphones in your laptop stereo Jack, the internal speakers gets disengaged automatically, because of the mechanical disconnection happening in the stereo Jack. and when you remove the headphones the internal speakers automatically comes on. what if you insert a thicker Stereo Pin forcibly then connectors inside gets deformed beyond certain point then even after you remove the stereo jack the internal speakers will not come on, however when you connect the headphone again you will hear the sound in headphones.

if you can see three soldering connectors to your DSC connector jack or three wires emanating from the DSC Jack then my hunch is very likely.

What receiver are you trying to bind ?  Is your radio a JR XP9303 or an X9303 ?  What receiver power pack are you using ?

@sundaramvela, the mono jack was fine...no exerts at all...infact the radio shuts "off" while we remove the jack (the radio turns on automatically(in off mode) when the jack is inserted)
@anwar, its x9303, the receivers were all bound earlier (i carried all my stuff while traveling back to India)...looks like hard core transmittion issue...

I Still doubt it is the Jack connectors. since some times spiders and wasp too play havoc with unused sockets. they deposit muck inside and when we use them it gets into the contacts.

It is sure switching on and off the main board but not the Tx module or its not receiving PPM signal. worth if you try testing the module for its for reception of PPM and power supply. either PPM or power supply is missing here at the Tx Module.

i doubt the antenna still

Try this. Insert a pin half the diameter of the 3.5 Stereo jack Pin inside the DSC socket all the way in. Spray small amount of alcohol inside and after 3-5 sec blow air in very high pressure inside the DSC socket with the pin inside, to remove any muck if it is there between the contacts and try again.

@Sundaram...I'll try some alcohol into the socket this time...have some scotch at home...lol,
@Augustine...at least the binding LED (Green) on the Tx X9303 should beep during biding process even if the antenna is damaged right?...my Tx has its dedicated propo carry case, this actually cases the 9x very well during transport!...the last option is...my Friend/ Retail owner from Hobby Zone, Dubai is in Mangalore on vacation he said he would take it to dubai & probably send to the manufacturer JR & possibly get a warranty repair :)

;D ;) You know most of the time Spirits does wonder for human being and Equipment alike.

You know most of the time solution to the most complicated problems in life of electronics is least expected minor glitches. Unless you did not witness a spark/ smoke/ crackle/ while doing some thing and a device fails to behave follow the last action back. here in your case you tried a new cable and through your DSC Jack. which bypasses PPM from either main board/ DSC socket to Tx Module through trainer switch in Master Mode and sends out PPM from main board to DSC to be sent to master in Trainer Mode along with switching on the main board and I hope surely switching off the Tx module while doing so.

All this switching if being done by a simple 3.5 Stereo Jack surely it is making some contacts and breaking some contacts. Further being routed by the setting of Master/Trainer Mode in Tx.

Just try both the Master Mode and Trainer Mode in Tx setting along with Check for loose contacts at the 3.5 Stereo jack.

However its your bad luck if the electronic routing inside the main board by the Master/ Trainer setting has gone haywire. Which leaves you no option but to change the main board or the Tx board which is mostly beyond the available repair capability here in India most of the time.  Most of the technician generally go for the change of cards approach which saves them from all the trouble of diagnosis. but if it is a simple glitch at the socket unless the socket is also going to get changed with the card it is going to remain. Needless to say this is a very costly approach. So no harm in trying to identify the minor glitch to save some.

True, !! green light should be on , unless your board is already fried due shorting antenna, my sim box is separate 8 channel thingie, couldn't risk my flying radio on sim

tried the alcohol process into the socket...no luck :( ...now packed to send it to DXB ...yes i messed it up!
me too have the Elite Interlink Futaba with G4 & G5

yes Rajaram the teetotaler, u can come home & see me drink...:)

sincere thanks to Rajaram, Augustine, Anwar, RCBazaar, Sundaram...it was nice discussion...

a lesson not to use Tx on SIM costed me 20K :( :( :(

Shutter Down...Dubai here it comes!

Hi there...

I know this is an old thread, and at this time, i’m having the same problem.

My radio, JR X9303 is only used for playing simulators, when i tried to bind it to OrangeRX DSM2, the LED on the back of the transmitter was not flashes at all.

Is it possible that simulators can damage my radio?

Is there any solution with this thread before? Thanks in advance!
