MICROSTAR 2000

Hi guys,

I recently picked up Hitec aurora 9 and wanted to upgrade the firmware on the module and radio. Below is what i have done.
System info. - Dell vostro 1500 laptop, 2Gb ram, win7 32bit and HPP-22 programmer(cables, latest software).
Notes:
1. Turn off any anti virus you have installed on the PC (i my case windows security essential).
2. Install or run the program under administrator (switch off wifi or disconnect for the net for safety or virus attacks).
3. At the time of completion of installation or lunching the program make sure to enable anti virus and net connection.
4. Run the program under administrator and HPP-22 software requires net connection to perform updates.
5. Make sure that all the cable are good and signal wires are at right place in the connector(i had issue with the transmitter cable as the red and white wires were wrongly place, see the attached picture for correct placement).

Useful Info.

I had to sell my Hitec Aurora 9 to my friend and so started looking for a backup unit. Hitec Flash 7 seems to have fit the bill  Grin

sanjay if you ever decide to upgrade to a better radio, get yourself a Hitec Gen2 radio ( Aurora 9X or Flash 7 or Flash 8 ), STL full range receivers are being sold left and right at RCG for 400-500/- NIB or Barely used. Tower hobbies started selling there own STL compatible 6ch for 20$ or with coupons 16$ shipped new.

Out of reach right now. There is a certain school of thought favouring the Taranis from Frsky though Wink

I really would love an Aurora 9
but after using my airtronics (non-touch) i kinda find touch not to my taste  Undecided

anyway it's a versatile radio and modular and light weight Thumbs Up

Taranis/Frsky system looks good but the price they are selling at is bit high in India.
