Title: I smoked my TX - Anyway to get it fixed?
Post by: wtg on October 23, 2014, 12:34:02 AM
So I have  a RCB 6i TX.  I tried to connect a 2200 MAH 11 V battery and it started to smell bad and then stopped working.

It still turns on but no longer shows anything on screen or connects to the RX . Can it be repaired ?

Thanks.

Is the radio in warranty? did you contacting Rcbazzar and ask for help on repair?. If you are not getting help, then open radio and see what got burnt. Post some close up picture identifying gone parts and try repairing/replace then yourself.

(Others with similar radio and willing to help can open there radio posting inside pictures to identify components/values)

But you should be upto all this or get new compatible radio.

11v is way to high for that tx.Maximum should be around 8v.If is not under warrenty then post the close looks of the burned part

The RCB 6i transmitter runs on 4x AA cells (4x 1.5v) that is a max. of 6v, As you used A 3s LiPo(11 - 12v), The transmitter burned, as you say you really felt the burning, It's easy to repair, Just open up the case of Tx and look fr burned components, Take some close up photos, Mark the burned parts and post here so that, some other RCB6i users can check the part number on their good Transmitter. Over voltage problems usually burn only the power supply section.
