Title: Is this equipment of any use?
Post by: VC on April 02, 2010, 10:46:18 PM
Hi!

Can someone please explain, to an idiot like me, if this can be used in any way on RC boats - 100 mtrs range seems more than adequate. What else would I need to make a simple/ functional 2 Ch System. I hope my question isn't entirely ridiculous?! ;D

Cheers!

Its just the RF Rx/Tx module... you need:

1. A Control console  (sticks/buttons)
2. Channel MUX (PPM/PCM)
3. Channel DE-MUX and Servo Encoder (receiver part)
4. Lots of R&D

In short AIN'T worth it as HamAero said. Adding to it is the 100m MAX range, which would be no more than 50m in real world. Dont waste time on these. These are ready made kits used by todays Engg College kids to fool their Profs. Wish I had these things available in India in my school days :( Sob!

By the way, has any body seen the shielded wire attached to the antenna ? I am planning to hack my short wire Futaba Rx and put a long wire. The 1" antenna on my park flyer Rx makes me nervous.

I am sorry, I didnt notice the range exactly... It cannot be used in RC boats

But however it can be used for aerial photography, to take pics of a building from 50-75 mts height.

Does this make sense?

I am just trying to say that it can be used in R/C in any possible way if you have this with you and not worthy to buy it.
