Hello all...

So I was sitting at home bored  Angry over the weekend and was roaming around forums and websites relating RC helicopters and I couldnt get enough of RC helicopters and I decided I will try my hands at RC heli "sims" to gain some experience before I fly a real heli. I cannot afford a beginner kit yet and I dont have the money to buy a transmitter to to practice on the sim...so I thought I will try with my computer keyboard.

I installed Align's RC simulator and I could "fly" the heli ...but not proper...i can give throttle...i can change the rudder and pitch...and I would crash every time...after around one hour of "practice".. it just clicked me that I have a "MicroSoft Thrustmaster" at home which I borrowed from a friend to play microsoft flight simulator. So I plug it in my USB port...and tried fiddling around with the settings...and nothing happened  Huh?

Then I downloaded "HeliSimRC "...and yes  Clap! this simulator atleast responses to the joystick...but it has its own way to respond...I tried mapping the movements...and the software senses the movement...but I wasnt able to fly the helicopter... Cry

I have attached an image i made myself to explain what I tried to do yesterday...  Tongue

Is there anyone here who has tried the same what I have done ? or any idea if this will be possible at all !!!

thank you Smiley

Hey Sujith

yes . possible.. i flew phoenix rc with my logitech extreme 3d pro joystick!!.. works flawless!!

Need some help here, I thought phoenix only takes input from a usb dongle (which probably is a hardware based ppm to joystick driver, like ppjoy that is done in software)

Did you carry out some additional steps to have the joystick detected in phoenix or did it just work out of the box.
