In most electric setups, there is no separate battery connection, power is supplied by the throttle connection coming from the ESC and the BATT port is left empty.

So just connect the throttle connection from the ESC (assuming the ESC is one with a BEC, which is pretty much all of them!) to the throttle channel on the RX, with the bind plug in the BATT port.  Follow the bind procedure to completion.

Any receivers are generally get power from the output line connected with any servo/BEC/ESC. Receiver can operate from 3V-6V generally.

There is three lead of BEC/ESC/SERVO among which two are positve & negative and another is signal. All the positive and negative lines of receiver is connected internally and this internal bus generally got power from BEC/ESC. The BEC/ESC makes 5 volt regulated power from the battery supply. There is provision of power feed separately from the extra port.

In some cases, the separate auxiliary receiver battery is used to operate receiver & servos even after the discharge of main battery so that the model can safely land by gliding.

Therefore, you need to connect ESC/BEC and main battery and connect to receiver. You can keep disconnect the main motor (Brushless or brushed).

Thanks

one other thing, see that you are connecting the pin correctly, if you are using futaba type connector on Hk Rx you will have to shave off the protrusion to connect the signal side correctly, it is not marked and it is reverse of futaba

I too received my HK-T6Av2 Rx, want to use it with turnigy 4.4g servo.

Rx does not have any markings (+ve or -ve),
Servo has Orange-Red-Brown wire
I noticed the servo can be plugged in either ways (orange wire on left OR orange wire on right)

How to know:
which is the right way to plug into throttle from BEC of ESC as mentioned in above posts
which is the right way to plug in a servo (especially when there is no +ve -ve marking on the Rx)
Is there any writeup, video explaining this? Please help.

Thanks

The black/brown (ie darkest of the wires) is the negative wire and it is, by convention, always towards the outside of the case.  You can see how the servo/ESC wires should be connected in this picture, where -, + and "s" (signal) are marked in blue color :

You can see the white wire is towards the inside of the receiver (ie towards where the channels are marked).

Killer! absolutely crystal clear! no doubts remaining!
Thanks,
This convention (darkest-ve and towards-outside-of-case) applies to all Rx other than HK too
