Title: suitable lipo for RDS 8000, general question
Post by: teamnamibia on August 02, 2014, 02:53:52 PM
Hey guys

Could anybody please give me the rule of thumb for Transmitter lipo packs? I have a RDS 8000 and wondering if my 8000mah, 30 c, 3s lipo will work or if it will fry my tx(due to the discharge rate)? any reliable packs out there?

A high discharge rate will not fry your radio. You have to maintain the right voltage that's it.

Go for the 9xr pack from turnigy......or the rhino 2650mah tx pack.....fits perfectly.

@teamnamibia
8000mah?
Will it fit inside the battery compartment?
It won't fry your Tx.
Only problem(?) is that if you use it for 2 hours every Sunday,
it will require recharging only after about 6 months!
Your Tx current drain is under 200ma. So even a 2650mah will give you 10 hours of flying before recharge
