Title: T6 Config not connecting to radio
Post by: lastRites on August 12, 2012, 02:18:11 PM
Hi!
I am in a bit of a fix. I have the HKT6A V2 radio bought from rchobbyaddict some months back. I need to reverse a servo channel, so I bought the usb cable from HK and installed "CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7" driver on my windows XP laptop. I also changed the port number to COM3 in device manager. Still the radio does not get connected  ???. What am I doing wrong?? I turned on the radio after I plugged in the cable.
 :help:

AFAIK, you have the correct driver installed (SI Labs). Connect your radio >> Control panel >> hardware & Sound >> Device manager >> Click the + beside Ports (COM and LPT) >> Check the COM port number. Select THIS COM no. in T6Config.
Or try reinstalling the drivers, or you could even try the alternate, older driver CP210xVCPInstaller.exe

get turborix.exe and the ateasy 6 software

mostly i found the T6 was not working for me but turborix was a breeze/

Issue is computer allocates COM port more than 20 but T6 will not search more than 10

So you need to manually allocate COM port to the USB device CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_

Can I get a link for the software/driver you mentioned?
I had already allocated COM2 to the CP210. Still no effect..

The cable contains a usb to serial port chip.. ensure that its being detected first. do you get a notification saying device detected or any other notification? If not you need to debug that first before installing drivers.

I don't get a notification, but it works. (win7, 32bit)
I don't think it's a problem with the software (T6config/digitalradio/turborix)

Did you try reinstalling the drivers? I had to reinstall mine thrice before getting the thing to work.

My software side is ok. I think there is some problem with the transmitter trainer port. Any has any links to a t6 repair manual? The transmitter is sometimes working with turborix when I squeeze the lower right corner... :(

Hello!!!

Try these steps .... Even i struggled a lot but then found on net these easy steps to install T6. Follow these correctly and you will get the sync connection. If something is loose as you mentioned then its another story. But is you do these correct and still TX does not connect surely there is some other problem.

I could connect my tx on to vista. Do not try Simulators first connect the TX as is with t6 config. Remove all installations.
> do not connect anything to computer
> Have Usb drivers installed
> once USB drivers installed connect the cable to USB ( DO NOT CONNECT THE TX)
> See the device manager  ( try changing the port to 3,4) It can be done. There will be issue your Mouse dongle/ photon will be using these ports ... remove them.
> once you get the device on 3,4 port no.
> Install T6 config & restart system
> check Device manager again
> connect the other end of cable to TX
> switch ON TX ( Batteries should be there in TX)
> run T6, select the same port as in device manager
> check the sticks you should have synch
> Get user & save settings

With this steps i could connect TX to laptop.

Thank you! But I fear that the software side had no problems(I had followed the steps you mentioned). But there is something wrong with my transmitter. The signal light(in turborix) flickers. I have to squeeze the lower left corner hard to get a solid connection. There must be some loose connection there..

Looks like The serial data from the port on your tx its not reaching the usb chip present in the cable... The trainer port i think its a ps/2 port.. If you can get the proper cable you could output the data on the hyper terminal. . I haven't tried it but its possible with a little googling.. If not borrow another cable and confirm its cable fault.

I have checked it with another transmitter. Its not cable fault.. Neither is the ps/2 port a problem, I guess.. A schematic of the transmitter is all I need now to get started on fixing it :P

Fixed it (patched it up :P)! One of the inductors on the gnd connection in the ps/2 port had somehow burnt off. Bypassed it(not a good thing but no options were left). Working fine now. :)
