Title: Taranis 9x plus anyone?
Post by: parambir on June 05, 2018, 10:52:55 PM
Casual searching brought me to Taranis 9x plus radio which looks much similar to JR... Can anyone throw light on this radio? I suppose they use FrSky radio module and hence use Frsky Rx available on hobbyking...

Thanks

Frsky Radios are one of the best in class for their price.
Taranis X9D plus is one of them with very huge consumer base. It is termed as one of the best radios at that price. I am not a user yet but came to know because of huge community around.
You can search taranis x9d reviews and mods and you will find hell lot of them.
Recent player is Q X7 which took away market by storm. It is truely a great deal for that price.

I am using Taranis X9d. The difference is , X9d comes with a case. Hall Sensor based Glimbals and a SMA Antenne adaptor which allows you to change stock antenna w/o opening and soldering involved. My friend is using it for past 10 months, amazing radio, strong and active open source community backing it's firmware and cheap receivers, what else can one ask for? :)

If any one has background related to er9x or open9x on his 9x tx then , tar anis is easy to use, but if not, it will take some time. Because there is no detailed opentx manual available as like er9x has it. The manual  which is available for opentx does not have mixing examples available. Alofthobbies.com has manual by person named lothar has printed manual for $14.5 . Also to avoid complex mixing in tx there is script available which run when selected which works great named as lua scripting( it other programing language like c and c++). But lua is not recommended by them as it takes 30ms delay to execute than inbuild mixing.
