Title: Turnigy 9X receiver... is it DEAD?
Post by: hyd_quads on December 16, 2012, 07:09:04 PM
I've been using my Turnigy 9X Stock receiver for 2 months now without any problems. Yesterday when I plugged it into my SkySurfer, the Rx didn't just work.

1. The BEC is fine, it gives 5.18V.
2. There's no other 2.4G source (WiFi or other).
3. When I plug in the flight battery, the Rx LED blinks once and goes OFF.
4. After trying multiple times, It got it o work once. (once in 25 attempts!)
5. But it doesn't work again.

I tried various ESCs.

Can anybody advice me on what to do?

Check for some loose connection....... Working once means its good so try finding issue. Once on check as real times before flying.

Also check the TX module. The T9X esp ver 2 seems to have a problem, where the TX module loosens at the back silently; leading to the specified symptoms. Take it out and put it back firmly once/shake it a little; **Re-bind** and see if the signal comes back. I've had this once at the field  (on the ground)

In any case, risking this to a flying model is not advised. The T9X can match up with other brands only if sufficiently modded. If you have some experience soldering, you could get rid of the stock module and put in a FrSky module.
