RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

In case anyone is wondering, using lipos as TX batteries is very common these days.  The manufacturers seem to take objection to this, and sometimes claim that this voids warranties, but their own specs validate the use of appropriate lipos (as the range of accepted voltage/current falls well within the manufacturer specs).

I have been using TX lipos for a while now with great success.  I like the fact that I can fly for almost a month on a single charge.  Just remember that you should not discharge the lipos too much.  For example, a fully charged 3s lipo would be 12.6v to start with when used in most Futaba/Spektrum/JR transmitters, and one should charge them again when the voltage falls to around 10v.  Do not wait for the transmitter low voltage warning beeps to come on, which happens at much lower voltage.
