Hey guys , I was thinking that why there are so less spektrum radio users in india , I mean futaba is more  costly but a lot of people in india use futaba ( i personally have a futaba t8fg super ) pls give your view about this thing  ,

( note to sellers : I don't need a spektrum radio , just curious why ? )

it is cause of mindset of people futaba was first in producing radio equipment ,,then came spectrum,so people who are in the hobby from years use futaba because in their minds is reliable and easy to use...no one wants to buy and try out a new brand ...but this has changed recently and alot of people are now using spectrum  and jr i have used all three and find that spectrum and jr is more easy to use and equally or u can say in some way better than futaba each have their pros and cons ...but i like spectrum and jr over futaba anyday

Good that the topic started.

In the beginning, I found some articles that talked about response time and Futaba went ahead by far, lacks telemetry in lower models lik 6 ch or 8 ch.

Coming back to Spektrum and JR, both have telemetry and now JR uses new technology with DSMx, Spektrum uses DSM 2.
Now coming to Presentation, JR uses an Alien Look for the case, but Spektrum has added voice functionality which is cool....!
Here we need to compare the response time between JRs technology and Spektrum.  Requesting more thoughts on technical  aspects please....... Bow

Also JR is easily available in India  (RC Dhamakaa) but for Spektrum there is no authorized dealer, the people who will provide it will charge a Bomb  Bang Head

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

not right exactly, i have seen a lot of spektrum users, i was a spektrum user myself. santhosh from kerala uses the most advanced and limited version spektrum 18QQ.

what i found that older version (yester years spektrum) had range issues (i believe i have commented on this issue earlier). compared to Futaba 7C spektrum's range was good 500 mtrs lesser on gorund (i had a 8 channel one) may be it has got more to do with the regulations of transmission power in some country than really a technical thing. spektrum radio programming, i found quite easy, however i did have a couple of runaway foamies with the spektrum. i never flew any gasser or nitro with the spektrum, so cant comment on that.

Well things have really changed since then, my telemtry frsky module with a 2W booster on a Futaba 8CHG goes really long range with no link loss at all

14MZ & 18MZ have such great programming, mixing options that sky is the limit.

My new acquisition (yet to get it in my hand) JR 14E is class apart.

for helis i found Sanwa sd10g the best. resolution of FHSS3 is better than futaba 7C and comparable or better than 14MZ. So i let all my helis on Sanwa SD 10 G

my 2C bit

I would go with JR specially when its about Helis . I like the light weight of Jr and the geometry . Jr Clone rx are available but they sucks.
