happy new year to all members. paa members celebrated the new year by arranging picnic to veer dam one of the most spacious backwaters just around pune. Col.H K Sil had assembled a thunder tiger Ready with floats and we all were in the spirit to try out float flying. it was fun to fly on waters and being afraid of all that might happen in an event of a deadstick. Also no one from the team knew swimming at we all had to wait and run around when the engine quit in the middle of taxing. after a proper needle setting it tookoff on the choppy waters and landed back safely with a beautiful flare. we also had a rescue Rc boat just in case needed to tow the plane but the motor kept cutting and also the water ruddder did not work positively. but it was fun to see it skim over the waters. pics below Title: Re: Float flying on veer dam Post by: sbajare on January 01, 2012, 08:25:49 PM more pics

thnx for the feedback. video was not possible as my camera could not capture the speed of the plane and also the zoom was very low. will surely try nexttime. posting more pics of the place which will give u an idea of the place. its huge and open with no obstructions and restrictions. after a good flight you can simply relax and enjoy the surrounding. its very relaxing.
