Hi ,
Friday , Saturday and Sunday were Mr MOSS filled days .
A total of 67 nos of Mr MOSS were built and flown over these days :
37 nos at the Fly Spad Workshop at MIT Campus , Anna University
30 nos at NIT Warangal Tech fest .
A total of around 110 Engineering Students formed the 37 teams at FLY SPAD in Chennai .
36 of the 37 gliders were test flown by 1 pilot ( Venkat ) and 1 Copilot ( Saju ) and all flew great .
In fact the feed back from the participants were the most satisfying part " though they learned a lot of theory this was the first time they made something by themselves and actually saw it fly " .
Some even were so thrilled that they tried to fly their Mr MOSS and a few actually flew a circuit or half before they crashed the plane but since damage if any was minimal and they had made it themselves they were confident of repairing it even if something went wrong.
In fact to add fun and to show the versatility of SPAD we had a challenge of design your plane and we will make it in a few hours which was taken up by Abdul Hakim College of engineering Vellore , Their plane actually flew well so they got to keep the plane with the set up as a prize.
On the whole it was fun filled , enjoyable and educative experience for all of us as well.
The biggest satisfaction was around 200 + college students were exposed to practical aero modeling in these two days and hopefully we should have at least 10 % continuing this great hobby . Saju and me hope to do our small bit for the hobby through these workshops.
The encouraging bit was also there were I think 3 all girl teams in the 37 and one of them made one of the best flying gliders despite being 1st year students
.
The response to the Anna University workshop was huge : 182 teams applied for the 30 slots and we were forced to restrict it to 37 as the number of Radios available were limited.

Will try to upload some photos if and when I get them from MIT.
