The joint national aeromodelers meet is planned to be held on Nov 18th to Nov.20th,2011.at Karnal Flying Club by Wings India and AMA ,come and see jets,planes and helis, flying at Karnal,all aeromodelers are invited to participate.

The event is supported by Haryana Govt.and Aero Club of India.

Karnal is about 2 hours by road from Delhi towards Chandigarh,excellent hotels and great food.

Till date 74 aeromodelers have confirmed presence on facebook.See us at "National Aeromodeling Meet" on facebook.
18th.Nov.2011,is the day of arrival.
 
Details of hotels will be provided shortly,these are also available on the net.Participants to book accomodation directly.Non Members(AMA) participation fee is Rs.2000.0,Lunch will be offered on 19th.and 20th.and a get-together evening Dinner on the 19th.evening.

Prizes being offered in different categories.

Local schools and public will attend in large numbers.Entry for audience is free.

as per my knowledge WINGS INDIA is organizing National Level Aeromodelers meet every year since last 5 yrs. :hatsoff:
aeromodellers from Mumbai already have experienced it.
members of WINGS INDIA may acknowledge it. i personally attained all.

U r right,WI started first ,about five years ago,mostly Amby valley,AMA was formed only in 2009,now for the first time both WI and AMA are doing the meet together with participants from a large number of cities  and Affordable by majority.

We hope this grows every year,and possibly become a location for international events.

Karnal is a very good flying field,the city is easily motorable from Delhi,it has excellent hotels and good food.

We are encouraged to see participants coming from such diverse places,hope they like it.

Ravi,We are progressing slowly,the first event was in Noida,the second one is in Karnal,we could certainly think of doing it somewhere like Hyderabad or Nagpur(Central) if that is acceptable by majority and we get access to a good flying field.

Bangalore could be another good location or Chennai-let's see where we go next.

Give us your suggestion,with support of aeromodelers,we are not afraid of anything but sure of making steady progress.

Wow looked like the Amby of the North, Conspicuous by the absence of smaller planes. I say that only on account of the photographs available.
Guys does no one fly a 46 size plane any more? And are there no flyers capable of putting up a great schedule with a small plane.

Review of the event :

The venue :
Fantastic venue encompasing a huge clear sky and a km long runway at the flying club Karnal.
Marked area for aero equipment / tents / chairs and ample of space for car parking.
A stall for sandwiches , cold drinks , snacks etc and another for lunch, we also had a stall for R/C equipment.

The planning
Flying started at 10:00 hrs on 19th Nov 2011 ( Saturday)
a)First we saw heli's - Trex 700, 600, 500, scale heli's , both nitro and electric.
Heli fliers : Jamal Ahmad, Lavneet Gyani, Raju Chaudhary, Laxman Suthar.
b) Now came the turbine jets : Mr. Moore of Wings India had come with a six member team which displayed some fantastic turbine powered machines eg. tucano, viperjet etc. all planes were majorly flown by Wassi.
c) Post the jets came the gassers - 100cc, 50cc, 30cc, 20cc - from YAK's to Edge, Extra, U can do, you name it and it was there. Fliers: Jamal, Rohit, Wassi, Bobby, Raju, Divay
d) Nitro Models / Electric planes : Very minimal mainly trainer crafts. Fliers : Manish Agarwal, Ranjit Talwar, Vikram Sangar, Subir, Divay

Overall the two day event was an eye opener and was a complete entertainer.... I hope the platform only becomes bigger for all those who were against AMAI and its conduct I feel that this event will and has sealed any sort of criticism.

And what we achieved at KARNAL is what matters happy reading

Anything really exciting took place in these 2 days. How was the fog? I hear the 1 km runway was only half functional and along with some human participation, there was a presence of a substantial non human participation too.

The efforts by any organization are to be commended, however big or small.

Do you actually feel in your heart that the grass root of aeromodeling is Jets and Gassers? How do u feel this event has done in the promotion of aeromodelling and in the promotion of young and talented flyers.
Are u not entertained at the Noida field when you fly every Sunday? Apart from having gotten the opportunity to meet some fabulous people and to have made new friends, do you feel that this event went in any way in promoting aeromodelling in India? Do u feel that this is what AMAI stands for? And these are the 'high' standards that have been set for others to follow.
Like I said......... I wasn't there and I have no first hand knowledge, so just wanting to know from someone who was there.

Guess to many "Do you's"  ;) But I'm just trying to be the devils advocate so that we may have some more ideas for the next meet...... wherever and whenever.

As all startup events have hic ups so did this one - fog played a bad factor, we guys were prepared to fly early but only ended up flying by 10:00 due to weather.
We had a number of school students who came to watch the event, which surely was a promoter of the hobby, on the flipside one of the kids threw a rock on bee hive causing a bee attack which disrupted the event for close to 30 mins.
I dont know how it has done in the aeromodelling promition but it sure has got the community together for starters.

Overall it was a fantastic event and as wine becomes better with age I am sure such events surely will.

It is with the dedication and support of aeromodelers like you Divay that such events are possible and succeed.Keep up the good work.

Thats Bell 47G scale body from vario with a Vario benzine trainer mechanics inside. I assembled it for Xantos/Nandan from Mumbai 2 years back :-)

Quite amazing to see a shamiyana full of spectators disappear into thin air.
Only people unaffected by the bees were Mr Dosu and Ranjeev

Bill, Pls don't misunderstand. It is owned by a friend - Nandan from Mumbai, lying with me in Delhi currently though. Cant even fly it since it is set up with a JR and I hate to change anything to set it up for futaba :(

Hey Lav,

The easiest to get it in the air is to get aJR 9X and key in the same values from Xantos radio, and your're good to go!  Only thing to do in that is its slightly off tracking (very slightly) and most importantly get governor for it.

I only have the XG series Tx/rx and no backward compatability with the old JR systems. If I do fly it, will need to set it up with the Futaba system. Why does it have two small JR Rx like thingy's on the mesh boom??

yes they are satellite receivers.  I think we used a 9 channel JR/Spektrum DSM2 receiver in that heli.  The 9channel's got an option of either using one or two satellite receivers for redundancy.

And the video should be called dogfight from the bees!  LOLz

AMA CERTIFICATE FOR EVENT

Exciting month of November-lots of preparation and finally the National Aeromodelers Meet at Karnal on the 19th.and 20th.of November 2011.
There has been excellent participation of aeromodelers from all over India,over 140 registered for participation for the first time in a location which has excellent infra structure in the form an air strip,good hotels,good food and proximity to Delhi-NCR,Punjab and Haryana.

Day one started off well with opening address by Air Chief A.Y.Tipnis ,flower dropping by heli and kicked off by helicopter flying,then the jets started their spectacular display.About 90 children from Sainik School Karnal came to see the event along with their principal Gr.Capt.L.N.Sharma.

Some School children took a shot at the beehive near the Hangar,which set them on the loose and they attacked whoever was near by,two children were taken to the nearby hospital by our team and several people were bitten creating serious disruption in the flying.

However flying continued undaunted after lunch with the small aircraft and helis towards the afternoon.

Media persons came and interacted with the chief guest , president of AMA and participants,news was flashed on some TV channels and also in the print media.

In the evening a gala dinner hosted by Mr.More was attended by participants and families .

The effort to initiate an event of this level at Karnal was widely appreciated and every one desired that it should be made an annual event.

A rolling Trophy –“MAN OF THE MEET”-initiated by Mr.More of Growel Sports and Hobbies was awarded to Mr.Hemant Verma Treasurer AMA for making the event a success by him and his team this year. Certificates were awarded in appreciation of their flying talent in different categories.

 AMA in its second year of operation is making the hobby more enjoyable and attracting more participants to take part.It is also sending the right message to the public on its creativity and safety.

AMA takes this opportunity to thank all the participants to have made the serious effort of coming  form places  like Mumbai,Assam,Delhi-NCR,Punjab,Chandigarh,Allahabad etc.and making this a great success.

A profuse vote of thanks to the Executive Director of Haryana Insititute of civil Aviation Karnal Capt.Kamal Kishore for making the airfield available exclusively for the event and making the event possible.
