RC India

HI,everybody as the name suggest yes am talking bout an event ..we all know there are a lack of RC event happening in India most of them are very small scale and are not totally about rc like tech fests and stuff there is just one major international  event happening in India that is the Ambby valley event .... 

Well summer vacations are approaching and that means vacations for a few while some still will be working but it frees up 50% of people mostly students already in this hobby ... the members working would be free on saturdays and sundays

For example many people in an around mumbai fly locally in small groups excluding members in mahalaxmi where there are many people ....the point is people being so close never meet up ....

I know organizing an event takes time effort but to have fun flies is a must to get in new crowed into the hobby existing members get to meet ....people who are unaware of such things and interested can get help from existing members ....forum moderators and seniors and all members hope u guys agree we can have something like this in april may ...moms in media i can try and get a post bout this this in news papers ...plus there is facebook for adds and dont forget word of mouth sharing  ;D i guess if we agree on such an event members can arrange to get there .....LHS can also have their share of participation !!!!

This hobby needs to get more publicity. The Chinese have made this hobby quite affordable, even to college students like me. We just need to get the word out :)

i can organize one, in the month of May/June at shillong (Good excuse get outta heat). It will be just before rains. on the same lines as this one

gusty sir it would kinda be too far for some since most of us are just students ...somewhere around central india would be fine for all i guess gives us three or more options MUMBAI NAGPUR HYDERABAD ....These locations specially NAGPUR would be ideal where it will be exactly or lil more than 1000km from any destination in India ....shillong is 2000km+ from the west and more than 2700km from south i dont think these guys will come up so far ....the whole point of rc india funfly would be to get most of the members and get newbees at one place to enjoy an event together ....i dont mind as long as other members dont mind shillong .....but central india most preferred since it would be cheaper for all to come to ....  :salute:

Yeah , I'm a newbie and shillong is kind of far. But the idea of getting of the heat is good :p would be a fun trip, but then it wont be okay with everyone,  like me, all students, it might be costly as I dont know exactly how much it would cost to get there and the stay. But for now see somewhere close and convenient for everyone. :)

The only time I can personally take lead on this is typically in July/August, preferably in God's Own Country. 

I don't want to see such meets labeled as "RC India whatever", and our beloved nation being as vast as it is, we will need a few in various parts.  Wings India was a monumental effort (kudos to them!), but we should be able to arrange smaller scale ones also, without as much effort.

God's own country is fine too again it becomes a distance to travel for the northerners... Let see Sir where people prefer...

Actually Goa wont be that expensive. Can actually rent a farm house, so split the rent, and travel is also convenient :p

yes i do know that but i doubt it will be favorable to all besides ,mumbai ,bangalore ,kerala people .finding a place to fly will be a challenge 

Goa will be windy too, well, most of the time. since i lived near sea, land and sea breeze keeps switching through out the day,even when there is not bad weather approaching.

we gujaratis have large hobby following yet many of the pro hobbyist  are kind of old school , i mean to say they are loaded with trexs, nitros, scale models etc yet many are unaware of forums. I know few barodian into this hobby for more than 12. Our university (MSU baroda) has a dedicated aeromodelling workshop, funded by gujarat gov since more than 13 yr or so. Which really makes students to opt for aeromodelling , besides alternatives like NCC.

inquired 5k for two nights so if we 15 -20 it would just come up to 250-350 rs per person ..all we need to spend on would be travel n food n drinks those who do drink thts everybody i guess  ;D...so max i guess higher side would be 3500 to be spent per person on a very high side in goa

the dates can be a real issue here ...............MAY first three weeks available after that it wont be possible because of the rains ......and then October and beyond  is the only time i see available for flying  ??? ??? need some opinions here

Best is to have it now, in April... Before may, because the winds in may can easily be doing 8-10 knots...

Hey Shannon firstly i want to ask if you are the same guy who made the videos about the Avionic RCB7X? if you are, Awesome videos.  :bow: :thumbsup:

The next thing is that as i am new to the RC field i would like to learn more about it and eventually buy some planes in my budget to try it. I am starting out a little early than most indian modelers do, as i am only sixteen.
I live in mumbai too, in thane(W) i was thinking if we could use Azad maidan as the place to fly. If not ,then my moms business partner owns a 5-10 acre property at vangani in karjat which is a 1hr drive from mumbai. The place is actually an adventure and outbound training site for corporates. Over there you have a lot of place to fly it is mostly badlands( Flat area with gravel), it also has a river near by which can be a pleasure for FPV flyers as the greenery around there is quite a lot. The time you have chosen by considering the polls is October, just around the time of the winter season transition so the climate there is be quite pleasant. Additionally as i know the owner the rates for staying there would be quite low. If anyone is interested in any adventure activites they can do that too(Even though it is not our main objective). My only concern is if it will be viable for other people.The concern i wanted to state to you about Goa is that during october when the monsoon clouds are just leaving  the skies could present quite turbulent winds. Though i dont know how the winds would be in the site i stated around october i could check it if you are interested. Please do consider this site also.
