I see that many Indian teams participate in SAE contests. But I don’t recall any team posting results. So RCI members have no idea what happens/happened in these contests. I tried a few sample checks, but couldn’t find any team that had made a successful flight! My sample or my conclusion may be incorrect. So I request SAE participants to share their stories with us. The next oldest was this from Nov 2010 http://www.rcindia.org/rc-events/sae-aerodesign-west-2011/msg40339/#msg40339 A link there led to this post by flytrack “AMA members win at SAE AERO USA(2011),their message is appended below: Sir, Yes we did win the prize, we got the first place for lifting the highest payload of 5.4 pouds in the microclass and secured second place in operational availability. Overall we stood 5th place overall in the event. The ama card really helped us , they did accept and let me fly there , Thank you very much sir for your help and support. Team Drone Shreyas vijay reddy Congrtulations to the team” Unfortunately, no further details of the model or the flights... As was the next Aug 2014 post. Only a single post, as no one responded! http://www.rcindia.org/rc-events/participation-in-sae-aerodesign-west-15/msg237315/#msg237315 Then in 2018, a query that went unanswered http://www.rcindia.org/rc-general-topics/sae-aero-deign-regular-class/msg291159/#msg291159 As far as I can tell, that’s all. In ten years! Surely there must have been many more teams/ attempts. It would be good to hear their stories. |
