Title: Shillong weekend
Post by: VC on August 09, 2011, 09:07:19 PM
This forum has done a lot in bringing people closer. I experienced the warm hospitality of two Brothers In Arms during my recent visit to Shillong, Meghalaya. While Sandy and Shilpa Ma'am went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable in every respect, Gusty and Varsha Ma'am were equally warm and hospitable. The three families spent some blissful times together, unfortunately I missed out on a lot of fun due to my official commitments. This visit to Shillong will remain ingrained in our memories for a long long time.

Both Sandy and Gusty are ace pilots and I was witness to some fast and furious combat flying. I hope, someday in the near future, I will be able to graduate to their level. ???

Thank you Gentlemen! :hatsoff:

Did some CF, (close formation) some combat manouevres, did some low level cobra , inverted loop and inverted yaw turn recovery, it was quite windy, would have done a inverted fin touch on the mig 29 for Vc, next time Vc, on your virgin jacked mig 29 , what say? In the evening , in this cold weather we started my scratch built, yellow bird, one flick start, will try and fly some meth and gassers, next week, come over I will show you , Hover Kiss.

Sandy / Gusty

Reached home in good time, in spite of the inclement weather.

Gusty, when in Shillong, you aren't allowed to say "damn rain", after all it IS Meghalaya! ;D :giggle:

Busy preparing an F 16 and an F 18 to take on the MiG and the Sukhoi. Hope to have them ready for you guys to fly by the month end.

Cheers!

Seems that you have enjoyed everything inc. RC.
All the calcuttayans & Kolkatayans ( Diff-->Year) shifting to north east and enjoying more RC.

Kolkata has the static water level rising...
Due to rain & reduction of wetland in addition to unplanned sewage,
even Chakrarail/CiecularRail Detained for 5 Hours, keep in mind, > 30 min detention comes in statics of Railway Board Calculation, so serious failure.

Is this one of the reason? Then, what do I, to be shifted?

The only back-pulling is the work of my motherland in which I have engaged, PUBLIC WORKS with full dedication...

Better forming new age group for RC. Good news from Rohit. 15 Aerospace engineering  students are starting a group inside BE&SU (BE College). Sad news is that one of their mechanical friend tried suicide with sleeping tablet at 7PM and recovered at 11PM just informed from NEWS but don't know the reason right now.

We need to spread to more students with RC and other activity to overcome depression.

Nice!!!
I am willing and ready to present a case of RCIndia-logo-ed whisky and water as prize in my (pilot) brother's honor. He lost his life south of Shillong. So design a trophy and it's yours. Love the Schneider...

I can sponsor and it as an annual event if the turnout is good. I have a couple vintage 72 analog RC systems there.
Vikram Reddy

I remember my first flights in Shillong... the IAF ALG in US, UMROI. According to the maharaja "syiem" of sohra I was the first RC AC.  In those days the sectional charts had an emergency ALG in cherrapunjee. my vintage analog gear is in my maternal house there
