Hi,

I am a hobbyist from Bangalore and staying near Meenakshi Mall, Bannerghatta Road.

I have made "Walk along glider" and "thermocol plate airplane which can fly in a loop".

Before moving to RC plane, I would like to master the "Super capacitor free flight airplane".

The tutorials are available in the youtube sonex413 channel.

I have bought all the require materials except capacitor, planning to use small lipo battery which I already have and started running some test with the motor. Looks like, it may fly nearly for one minute.

All the suggestions are well-come and please let me know if anyone is interested to build the airplane together.

Hi Ranjan,

I am also a free flight enthusiast and into indoor free flight.
Check out my posts in first rubber powered as well as chuck glider
I have also subscribed to sonex413 youtube channel and have built indoor capacitor models.
Check out my posts on capacitor models.
You can get capacitors 10F very cheap on ebay. If you put a lipo then you will have to put a cut of timer to stoppower supply afetr required time otherwise lipo will give power for very long duration which may not be desirable and model may fly off outside the flying area.

You can also buy a reduction gear set for just 3$ from ebay.
I think the ebay links are in my posts as mentioned.
Check out my youtube channel Foldnation and see my walkalong glider flights and the Club Racer Walk Along Glider.
My original design of the Delta Wing WalkAlong Glider can be seen on the endlesslift.com website

Dear Sir,

Thanks a lot for guiding me and sharing tons of valuable info.

First let me try to procure the 10F capacitor and reduction gear set, then will post my progress here.

I know, the challenges are yet to come ...

Regards,
Ranjan Khaba

Thanks Sir, while waiting for the part to reach me, I will begin with whatever I have.
Is there any specific formula or parameters that need to consider while testing the motor with propeller?
How do you measure the rpm?
(Regarding cut-off time, I am planning to charge the lipo little lesser.)

Regards,

The video of the indoor capacitor flights model I have posted has a 135 mm prop that came with the reduction gear set. I found that it gave good flight performance.
The same vendor also has reduction gear set with 85 mm prop which is slightly cheaper also on eBay.
I need to put this smaller prop on a model and test performance. Time to make another model. Will do an outdoor model this time. Also once you are further into capacitor power I will give you links for how to charge the capacitor to required voltage using a buck transformer that is also cheaply available on eBay.

I think the motor that comes with the reduction gear set is supposed to give 45000 rpm. That must be without the load of the prop. With prop it will be less.
