I am supposed to design a 3D motor powered RC plane. I would like to know the procedure to go about with its designing.
What are the important points to keep in mind?

Thanks in advance!

I think they mean 3D (fully capable extreme aerobatic) RC plane.  If so, then a minimum 2 to 1 thrust weight ratio is desirable with a power setup that lets the plane "hang" on the prop (nose up and prop size and spin has enough thrust to keep it hovering).  Hope that this very simple answer helps you though I'm not sure why design at all when there infinite models to use as good samples.  It's as if having to reinvent the wheel?

agree with leabres, thrust ratio is very much important you can get more information regarding this on the internet. I would rather suggest you to get a kit and assemble it. That would give you more practical knowledge and later you can mimic that for you next 3d plane. Their is no such thing as 3d motor, a normal brushless ac motor with appropriate thrust could be used in a 3d plane. If you are a beginner feel free to search rcindia for more information regarding the concern topic.. cheers

Thank you for taking interest.

Sorry I meant " 3D pattern flyer, motor powered plane"

I am basically into designing and just making something like the existing models will not help. Although I agree making something closer to the existing models will give the best results.

Thrust to weight ratio greater than one - accepted!
In specific I want to know what should be the aspect ratio of wing, aileron sizing parameter and static margin.

I am not expecting accurate values but some range of values.

on a pattern flyer you will want a wing full aspect ratio with andihedrial on the top an dihedrial on the bottom so that it flies the same right side up or upside down.

static margin should be as small as possible on a pattern flyer

before aileron sizing, you have to decide if you want pattern flying or 3D flying. these are two different styles.  you can't have a 3D pattern flyer.

What is " wing full aspect ratio"? The aspect ratio I am talking about is, Aspect Ratio = span^2 / area

How low can my static margin be?
Less than 4% ?

And could you please tell me the difference between pattern flyer and 3 d flyer?

3D Motor is an advance technology and this is a  key elements in progressing electric-powered vehicle development. The more compact the motor, the greater the freedom in terms of vehicle layout and packaging while higher outputs increase performance and driving pleasure. The 3d motor powered rc plane has developed to meet this requirements. so firstly fullfill these requirement.

Huh! What was that?
As far as i can see, there is nothing called a 3D motor (except a racing game)
