Looks like the young generation palmtop/Smart phone user where you get apps for all sort of things. :giggle:
Yeah! But I think the guy has a point there, not far off when you could download apps for your Tx.
We are already seeing the telemetry modules on offer

if you could link your TX to a computer and then create an "application" that will auto-pilot the aircraft thru a pre-defined flight path.

Maybe you can create an app that will work with the flying model to create a map of of the terrain or something like that.

You talked about your project... but what do you study? If you are a physics student then a new aerodynamic design should be well enough a project in itself... why go for standard wing size or design... go re-design your own plane.. go innovate. but if you are looking for just adding some instruments on the plane which had been invented by wright bros then... you would be just adding something on top of it and might not give you enough point in your project.. right?

My point is whatever you can think off are probably done already with a plane.. UAV with camera & guns, planes serving in farms.. search and rescue... blah blah blah.. why not think out of box? try it..

:o yeah everything about planes already done... the best out of box thinking is .........a plane capable of running on highway  >:D. SO Running  plane is out of the box then flying one ;D.

Surely, everything about flying vehicles is most surely not done yet!! Planes do land on highways - at least in the US :-) Like that car thingy thats been designed to vertical take off and flying and landing of course.

Most valuable thing to do would be a "crash proof plane" even an attempt will be fantastic. Something like "Capt. all engines lost", "Quick deploy balloons, parachutes." ;-)). Or "eject that suspect passenger" kind of thing!!

Or, a plane that can take off from land and land in water - that "evacuation in water and wear your inflatable vest" thing will become history.

No joking, most likely some one is thinking of doing these things, failing many times and some day succeed, only to be praised by the rest.

Thats exactly my point was... dont do just the things already done yet.. something innovative would bring more interest on the table and for sure more points to the project :)
