Title: Bringing RC car into India

Hi Guys I need some advise

I've bought a Hobao Hyper-7 for my cousin in India and Iam currently in UK.Iam planning bring the car with me while coming to India by next month.Should I pay any custom duty for the car at airport?Should I carry any invoice with me?

As long as you are not carrying items worth more than 25K, need not declare. But put it in your box rather than separate and carry the invoice.

And also put that cousin in touch with us for any help.

There are chances when an item is declared under personal goods there is import duty of 42% for personal items. So be prepared just in case.

That is for postal/courier import. For air baggage, you can bring items upto 25K. Above that duty is imposed.

Thanks for posting the official rules Weblink. I will be traveling back to India next week and this will come handy. I plan to bring my DX5e transmitter and a HobbyKing plane. Will update all when I get there.

Just to update all:

I was able to bring in 2 planes, 2 transmitters/Rx sets, Lipos, motors, etc without problems with the Customs.
