Is this method safe and will the bearings of the motor be okay? ??? After cleaning with isopropyl and drying, Spray with WD40 to get rid of any water content in the iso. Dry. No need to open the motor to lubricate. If your lube bottle doesn't have a fine nozzle (needle type), get a small syringe. I use Scorpion motor bearing oil. It's very thin and lasts a long time. Still have half of my 30ml bottle after 4-5 years. Quite expensive. I think I paid Rs450 to adiboy (forum member but not active) who used to get all my reqmts from hobbyking till a few years ago... Singer machine oil (a far cheaper alternative) may be ok, though it is for somewhat heavier duty. Nowadays, most bearings are packed with grease, then shielded. There can be 2 metal (ZZ) 2 Rubber (RS) or one Rubber and one Metal. In rare cases (for special applications, a single seal is used. It is a waste trying to lubricate a shielded bearing with oil. But why would you want to clean a Brushless motor so aggressively? Just blow through it if it collects dust. It is a waste trying to lubricate a shielded bearing with oil. I guess my 20+ motors (Turnigy, DYS, EMax, Deltron etc) may be cheapos, as not a single one has a shielded bearing. Don't have an NTM, maybe they have shielded bearings. So I'm happy with the occasional mini drop of my Scorpion bearing oil... Thorough cleaning is rarely required, only if dirt is ingested.
