I have for Kolkatta and Delhi with whom i had to deal most of the time. also for additional local tracking http://www.indiapost.gov.in/ under track all mail will give u further details on where the parcel is in the current time Title: Re: Contact Details of Customs in India Post by: VC on July 16, 2012, 01:09:22 PM From my experience, don't ever make the mistake of contacting the Customs Office at Kolkata if your HK (or any other foreign country) parcel is stuck up or shows as "pending customs evaluation" while tracking it. Patience is the key here. Just sweat and wait for it to arrive at your doorstep. If you do call them, you will most invariably have to pay some 'fines/penalties/taxes' for importing 'banned/restricted Chinese items'. You will not be issued with a receipt for such payments.

You may use the contact details only if there is no change in tracking status in customs for more than a month. Or you are contacted to provide with details. Don't exhibit your exuberance in clearing the package and get exploited. However if it is very high value items it is better to contact earlier and take stock of the situation and get it cleared by paying the dues, rather than leaving it at the mercy of customs.
