Guys,
Was reading the thread started by Sai on what we understand by Propeller, but there is a question the I am confused about.
I have read somewhere (i do not recall the site) that for electric system, the power required for 'normal' flying is about 100 watts per pound of flying (all up) weight and for acrobatic stuff one would need 1.5 times the wattage.
While the wattage figure is ok, but then does it mean that we can use any prop size? I am sure that there is a limitation to the dia and the pitch that can be used with one type of motor, but is there a guideline? Logical to assume that if the dia is bigger and/or the pitch is more, then there would be more air than needs to be displaced and hence in turn would put load on the motor.... So where does one start?
