Title: heli vs plane
Post by: PankajC on February 02, 2010, 10:57:41 PM
Possibly one major choice for a newbie into this hobby. how does one decide on whether to go in for a heli or a plane?

hmm, I remember, Parbh asking this question. However, I would like to give a new angle to it. I am ready with a 53" wingspan trainer and am not finding a suitable ground in Delhi to try it out. At least not nearby...... So I am thinking whether to go in for a smaller model or to switch to helis as they require (I think) smaller ground in comparison to a plane.

A the initial stages, when one is unsure of the RC skills, I do not think many would travel 10-15km just to find a space to fly. Hence the choice of location where one intends to practice in the initial stages could have an impact on the choice of model - what say?

You are correct. The flying space does affect your decision of choosing between planes or Heli's as, let me say electric from 300 to 450 size Heli's require a medium size ground as compared to planes as even a 300 size would require a huge ground and in Delhi its hard to find. however once you move to Nitro it doesn't matter Heli or plane you require a huge field.

I hope it helps
