Title: Hobbywing platinum vs xrotor
Post by: Balakrishna Reddy on September 09, 2016, 01:17:00 AM
Hi everyone whomsoever reading this
I have searched in many groups and forums but was unable to get answers.
The Hobbywing platinum 40A costs 2000INR where as xrotor 40A costs 900INR and also weighs less which is always of highest priority while building aero models.
But whats the difference that makes price vary so much.

Hobbywing platinum is for Helicopters and Xrotor series is for multicopters. It works at 50Hz standard Rx signal.
Platinum series has features specially for helicopters/ airplanes - “Fixed-wing/Helicopter (Linear Throttle)/Helicopter (Elf Governor)/Helicopter (Store Governor)” and “Auto Restart (Time)”

Xrotor is capable of working at higher signal frequencies 621Hz and lacks heat sink.
Xrotor Pro series has heat sink and also works at high frequencies

Thank you for your replies.
Now i understood one more point for its cost which is implementation of usb port for updating software which also means making drivers and designing completely new firmware which makes the design costly.
