Is FPV legal in india? I was planning to buy 1.2-1.3ghz txrx for live video transmission.
Is there any power limit or so which we should not exceed?
Can somebody help in this regard.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Hope this helps :

I am not sure where FPV stands vis-a-vis arial photography, I would believe the rules (ie being banned) would apply to both.

Hi Anvar,
Thanks for the reply. But I see many ppl who have posted their FPV videos on this form earlier.
So does this ban apply to rc models as well? The link doesnt specify that clearly and couldnt find any law stating the same.

As far as I know, the FPV equipment works on a delicenced 2.4 Ghz band and no importer/seller has the ETA yet.
Would love to know if some one has already obtained one

Not necessarily, as I use 2.4ghz radio for RC plane , need a different freq for video tx/rx.
I could in rcgroups that many using 1.3ghz in US( as 1.2ghz is used by actual planes in US, 900mhz is banned)
In Europe 900mhz is banned and they use 1.2ghz for FPV.

I think commonsense is what people have been following on such topics.  Many people treat it just like using Mhz (72Mhz) etc radios (or even 2.4Ghz radios that were not imported with all the approvals)... which is to not do stupid things like fly over airports and sensitive locations, be mindful about safety and so on.

Yah I agree, in the national freq allocation table this is open for Amateur Radio. So my question is whether are we within the laws if we have a HAM license?  ( http://www.niar.org/intro/whoissues.htm).

I guess if you are a licenced HAM, you are issued a particular frequency to use. You may not be free to use any frequency, correct me if I am wrong

That I am not sure, but this is what the website says.
Grade I- Permitting all amateur frequencies with higher power including latest techniques.

Note: it says ' Aamteur Frequencies'

THERE ARE specific frequencies allotted for HAMming and there is a specific power output level according to his/her grade that the person should not exceed in any case...

If it is found that any Hammer is transmitting at a much higher power, he'll have WPC personnel at his/her doorstep asking for an explanation! (They are continuously monitoring radio signals!!)
which bands and what power on not in my mind as of now.. but hammers hear will be able to tell exactly.
