Hi All,

Yesterday I went to Fpo mumbai,as my parcel is stuck there for nearly a month.I dint received the call letter also(green challan).First of all my parcel is of Esky honeybee king 3 RTF 2.4ghz.

A official asked for the supporting documents that to prove that 2.4ghz frequency is allowed in INDIA.IEcode, and the certification from the manufacturer states that the materials used are safe to children.

I dont have anything except the 2.4ghz documents.I requested him polietly, then he came into the way for RISHWATH.Took 500 and cleared my parcel, charged a 14.75 duty.from there I went for Hand pickup, there too the fav word,Fuel....Totally took one day to clear one parcel.

Yes, this is true that radio in the international parcel will cause the parcel to seize temporary or permanently. there are few vendors in India who is having license to import 2.4 Ghz radio. the guarantee word or thing is just a vocal thing which they use, the end point is the money what you have to pay to them...this is you luck i must say that you get the parcel in one day...it took three days to have my parcel in my hands long back (72Mhz radio set).

Since  you are plunging into this with full commercial interest, why don't you get "Import license' and spare the FPO route for casual importer like we R/C enthusiast ?

I just hate the hypocrisy  of outwardly opening a mini shop and pretending as if it is a 'selling my unused stuff' to help other flyers.
http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/cenracing-nitro-rtr-for-sale-3157/msg31436/#msg31436

Of course, FPO is not my personal channel - its for people with right intent. Importing goods for commercial purpose, disguised as for personal use would make things difficult for other people genuinely importing for their own use.

Adding to it, importing sensitive item like Tx (esp during the CWG times), which is not advised over all the forums, and openly giving intricacies of 'under the table' affairs on the (another discouraged thing) would land the RC fraternity into trouble.

I would be great if budding LHS get things thru proper channel, like other LHS (RCDhamaka,Rotor, ModelArt, Paylessflymore etc) .

And the worst part is these "mini shops" don't have any spares and support either, they prop up once in a while and vanish  Shocked
It simply spoils the scene for LHS

Hi Jayanth and Ujjawan,

Thanks for your views. If the like you are there,we cannot grow in the business. Why cant you treat the selling of cenracing is a help I am offering.AS a hobbiest I do need some personal things. The cenracing cars are of my friends,He is not interested in selling so I took the responsibility.Wht's wrong...

And Onething I have observed in this forum is like, some or the other will raise a controversy .No one encourages.

Actually the moto of this post like to share my views.Pls observe the Moto and start pls.

And for Jayanth If you buy anything from a LHS,or anyone.Pls observe that the spares are available and then  only buy.Dont blame others for ones reason and everything starts from a small Drop only.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

I am not sure if this is the right discussion.  If everyone took the perfect channel in terms of imports, why are we still seeing only one hobby shop advertising that they have the only WPC approved radio in India ?  And it is well known that WPC approval is a must for radio import of any kind ?

I would say we leave people importing for any reason to themselves.  It is up to the authorities to watch the frequency of imports by anyone and determine whether the imports are with personal or commercial interests, and protect the rights of each individually Head Scratching

An unfortunate reality of our land is that there is enough red tape and unaccountability that everyone is bending the rules at some point or another Sad

Anwar,
You are right, all of us like to think that the people sitting in those Govt offices are fool, they are not, most of the times they know what's going on.
Just to let all know of an expample. I imported stuff from Himodel, asked them to declare true value of purchase and still they undervalued it. But guess what my duty was exactly to what it should be on the items. With information availble at finger tips these days, they can easily verify what they want to. Sometimes they may overlook but once it is a pattern they have the legal rights to assume that what you import and declare as for personal use is intended for trade and levy duty at applicable rates.

I hope everyone realizes that "politeness" should NOT mean that one should not express their concerns/opinions openly.  They just have to do it while respecting the other party as a equal/fellow human being.  Politeness will never be a barrier to expressing one's opinion on RC India, as long as such expression of opinions is done in a civilized manner.

Dear All,

I am importing a couple of HPI RC's, which are on their way to Mumbai.

What type of IEC would I require?
What supporting documents would I require?
What is the best way to have these cleared?

Any help will be appreciated.

HI

What is mode your getting them. I mean by sea or by Air?

1. You must Get the IEC in Prior. Because while taking the Iec you have to give them your current account details. And you have to make the payment to the seller from that account only by TT.

2. Proof of payment.

3. Regarding the clearing part depends on the customs officer. But remember the category is 9503(He can ask for anything). Keep any CE or any other certification from the manufacturer. Print from his website also ok.

Call me for any further clarification.
