Sorry, If I am affecting any of the LHS who had put their effort to obtain WPC approval.
I am briefing the procedure to import the RX/TX legally.
1. The company applying for ETA approval, need to get a letter from the manufacturer that the company is authorized to deal with the manufacturer product.
2. Relevant data required by WPC should be supplied, I am not sure generally it may be FCC approval, data related to frequency emission etc. I downloaded the form but I was unable to fill the required details since I could not get any sample of filled in application.
3. The company gets approval and the product will be listed on the WPC website.
4. With the ETA approval company has to apply for import approval.

So, individuals import the product without obtaining import approval (Step 4). Customs may clear the product if it was ETA approved but not guaranteed all the times.

You can use the attached page showing ETA approval for FS T 6 and FS T6 B to get it cleared but if they ask for import license sorry you can't get it cleared.

But, once again I am sorry for the LHS who has put their efforts to obtain approval.

Transparency is required to promote this hobby in India.

@kausha my order was detained at the new customs office in ballard estate near CST, and dont worry too much, just register yourself on the CPgrams website make sure you enter all the info that they ask for and then elaborate your problem, after doing this there is an option which lets you select which government department is the issue related to, so that the related authorities can be asked to look into the issue...just don't try and forge info as it will only do more harm than good..
@rcparkjets...thank you so much for the list....I was looking for individuals who are familiar with the process of getting type approvals for Rc equipment...if anyone (you??) can do it then we can just organise some of the core people to contribute money towards this cause and get things moving ahead in a legal way so that we don't face such issues in the future.... Hats Off

I am trying to hit and see what is required to get a WPC approval. But, at least one more month required to commence the process.

Hey all, what will this mean now ? (Attachment).
Return item from customs.
I guess it may be:- 1. It will be shippied in near future OR
                                   2. It is detained because one of my parcel was detained showing the sane reason some months back at Ahemdabad FPO.

Pls advice.

So guy, I want to buy this FPV module from ebay.com:
 http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-8G-200mw-Wireless-AV-Transmitter-Module-5-8G-Video-AV-Receiver-Set-for-FPV-ge-/261223441668?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cd2216504
This would be my first international buy using ebay. my problem is, i don't know much about custom duties, etc. as you can see this is a free shipping material. I want to know that do i need to pay anything when the parcel is received in India to clean any custom duty or anything like that?

Dont worry at all, for such minute or small item, the cuswtom wont detain it nor you wll be charged any duties for the fact that, such small packages are not inspected by customs.
Chill, give it a go !! Thumbs Up

Firstly, you can surely buy ESC and Sim. And no custom duty will be charged except on the ground of the following.
Conditions for duties:
1. Custom duty depends on the Weight of the package as well as its Size,

2. It also depends upon the declaring value of the goods. Assuming, If you buy 5 ESCs and 4 Lipos and 1 Quad frame small size, it is sure that the article will be pretty big and then if you declare a lower price than what the custom superintendent or commissioner estimates than a percentage of custom duties will be charged, b/w 5-30%.

3. Kind of goods contained in the package i.e. if you order something that does not comply with the regulations of the custom, the package will be detained and sometimes for the violation of this rule you need to pay custom duty.

I hope this helps.

Yes it really helped. Just one thing, when do we have to pay? When they come to deliver the product?

This depends,

1. If it is a legally allowed item, but if you have declared low value of the item( as explained in p.3)
Than you may be entitled for duty but on delivery, they never call you to their FPO(foreign post office) to pay any duty,

2. If you ordred some illegal item such as a 2.4 ghz Tx or Rx, they would detain it because you just dont need to pay the Duty but also addmit some documents they may require for which they call you by issuing a postcard or a letter to the mentioned address on the package.
