Hey Saurabh,
First Of All Sorry didn't know that it is 130 $ so yes its like 8000 rs approx. so I think that its should not be stuck in customs if it comes by registered air mail or if it comes by DHL,Fedex etc it will get held in customs and there is a chance you will have to pay customs duty.
But Yes Never loose confidence and patience in these things specially in Customs.
Regards,
Aman.

Hey Gunnu Yes It has cleared customs none other than it didn't enter customs just directly redirected to hoshiarpur I think that nearest city to your city.

Hi Friends,

I am very new to this hobby thing and had planned to order a CX-10 quadcopter just to understand how things work. I order from Banggood.com with free shipping to see how they delivery in free shipping so that i could decide my future orders shipping method with them. It took around 60 days and what i received was a letter from Mumbai Customs. It says i need to submit 1) Invoice & payment details (ok available)  2) WPC type approval/ WPC license. Now I am very confused with the second requirement, gone through the posts in the forums but still could not understand.

Is there a simple way to get out of it? This was a small toy quadcopter and not a hobby grade one, will there be any issues if I go direct to the Mumbai customs office?

Please advise.

Regards
Manish

Hey manish first of all welcome to the Forum.
Well If your quadcopter contained an Radio Transmitter that Is Trasmitter And Receiver then yes its a problem my friend Mumbai is requiring you WPC ( Wireless Planning Commisions Of India) NOC plus all your invoice details and payment details.
Now To get an WPC NOC its gonna take a lot of time actually a very much of time. So yes its a problem now.
If you can arrange to get NOC then its okay but if there is not NOC then I think you will have to send it back my friend and get your money back.
Or You can try writing them its toy and there can be NOC for this.
By the way whats the product name ??
Regards,
Aman.

Hi Aman,

Thanks a lot for your reply, it is Cheerson CX-10 Quadcopter with controller, micro Quad. This is definately a toy grade Quadcopter. Also getting NOC can be done only online or i can go to WPC office in mumbai and get the NOC? Is that possible? Thanks for all the help.

Thanks a lot Aman, will ask their guidance on this matter. Though it's not a big deal it's a cheap Quadcopter but i need to know what all we have to go through at customs just in case i order a big Quadcopter or a plane in future.

Thanks a lot again, your replies were very helpful.

I want to take it to india. can some body tell me if it is allowed and what is the procedure? because I saw older posts and the application sites mentioned are not working at all. is there any other way to complete the procedure whatsoever.
please reply as soon as possible

Thank you in advance

No Amoltej, have not tried yet. Will be going after new year. Will surely update what happens next. I had also ordered Sj4000 wifi cam from Aliexpress via DHL, and it's going to reach at my place today or on 2nd January. No issues at all. So guess fedex, dhl are the best way to ship if your product is worth a bit more.

Yes Your Correct Manish That's why they charge so much.
They have their own clearance getways in Airport Terminals.

I ordered Syma X5C-1 from banggood.com this month and today morning i received a post from Custom Superintendent, FPO (CUSTOMS) that they have seized my parcel and they require me to produce NOC from WPC. I told them that it is in 2.4Ghz license free band & showed them the FCC Test Report Document for Syma X5C-1 a link for the same is given below also as i was unable to upload the pdf due to size limitation for your reference then he started telling me you need ETA from WPC. I told him but this very same product is available on eBay too and the govt. is allowing it to sell in market then why do i need ETA for this product then he started telling me that you need commercial license you have imported by your own; You need import license and when ordered in bulk with ETA you can import this item in India. So I told him i will apply for the ETA then he started telling that you need to have import license too else we won't give you your parcel. So should I have to apply for import license too or just the WPC ETA? I have heard that you can get ETA in 1-2 months but import license takes around 6 months. So if I need to also get the import license then I will ask customs to return the parcel as of now and then i will reorder it once i have everything with me.

Also, i am having a fear that once i will have every document with me they may charge me heavy custom duty and because of that in the end i will receive the quadcopter at the same price as few sellers are selling them on ebay. I got it at around 4K and sellers are selling them at around 10K on ebay. If anyone has Syma X5C-1 the new version then please pm me, I would love to purchase it or if anybody can help me importing it or may be help me with the customs then it would be of great help.

https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=506962&fcc_id=QV7-GC887552-6

Thanks,
Sam P.
