One step we can take......
complain against these,
go for complain :
http://dpg.bharatsarkar.nic.in/Lc_ViewStatus.aspx
i did it.
If we all do this for this particular issue, they will understand and something will be happened, or may be nothing.

Hello everyone ,
Im planning to order TopFlite Cessna 182 ARF from towerhobbies.com . they are ready to send it but my only concern is the delhi customs . will they stop it ? Since its just a ARF kit , it doesnt have any kind of transmitter ,nor engine nor anykind of eletric item . So should i order it ? or do i need to take permissions/certificate from anywhere?
Your Help will be appreciated . Thanks!
The Kit will contain the follow things attached in the following file

It should be fine as long as you

-Mark as gift, low item value
-Label the package as model parts
-Use a plain box and NOT THE RETAIL BOX for shipping

This way they have no way of knowing what it is.

What you think ? The guys sitting in FPO/Customs office are retard.
Can't they see the Size of the package ?  labeling them as "Gift" has NO practical benefit. They are not Santa sitting there to pass on gifts, specially such a huge package.

I don't say that big boxes have not gone Custom Free - I did receive AXN floater and X-UAV Talon without any charges. But that was 2-5 years ago. The scene has changed very much recently.

So I will suggest Sahil to avoid ordering from Towers. It is plain gamble. If it does get stuck, you will curse yourself.  Get such big item from LHS if you can find close match.

Size is not everything. If I pack a huge box of thermocal it doesn't mean my package will get stuck in customs and I will be charged a duty.

Yes there is a risk, but many sites refund you it the package has not reached in a month, regardless of whether it is stuck in customs or not.

The problem with ordering from LHS is either they dont have the required model or they are very expensive.

I recommend taking a look at their refund policies and then see if you want to take a risk.

Hey guys,

I'm a student from mumbai and have I'm getting a Hubsan X4 as a free product for review(From Canada). The parcel however has been held at Ballard Estate Foreign Post office and I've received a Call/Cum-Show Memo stating I have to get an NOC from WPC. I made the trip to the WPC office (in Borivali) and even spoke to Mr Rao and tried to explain that this item is a Toy Quadcopter I need for a project but all they said was that they do not issue NOCs for quadcopters and that a letter from DGCA is needed. I then tried to tell the customs officer that WPC is not issuing an NOC but she did not budge.

Mr Rao at the WPC also gave me thisi notice by the DGCA. (http://dgca.nic.in/public_notice/PN_UAS.pdf)

Is there anyway I can get the Quadcopter released ? I'll be grateful for any help!

Nope, no way you can get it. Ask them to ship it back, they'll do it if you're lucky.

Thanks for the advice cyberhack, I'll try talking to them tomorrow. I already mailed a letter to them with the Invoice and mentioning I need the Quad for a project but have got no response. I even took the FCC papers of the approval to the WPC but they wouldn't listen. You're lucky since I dont think any Hubsan Product is in the WPC list, so I'll have a tough time convincing them. I'll try telling them the WPC does not issue NOC.  Bang Head

Is there a better chance of a package coming through if I get it through a private courier like FedEx or DHL ? Or will it not make a difference? Huh?

Hi,

I purchased a Frsky Taranis x9d plus transmitter and receiver from Banggood about a month back.
A few days back I got a letter (relevant part of the memo attached) which is asking me to produce the following:
  • Invoice/Receipt/Bill or any like document showing the description, quantity and
value of goods and mode of payment credit card/debit card .PAYPAL or Bank statement etc details.
  • Brochure/Product Catalogue/Technical Write up/Test Report, specitying the item
in the parcel. In case of any replicas, onus to prove the same is on the importer.
  • lmport Export Code certificate/lmport Licence/DGFT Licence in respect of restricted goods.
certificate as per the Condition 2(i) & 2(ii) of the chapter 95 of customs Tariff Act.
  • Certificate from PIant / Animal quarantine Department
  • WPC Certificate from Ministry of communications and Information Technology
  • The documents called for may be sent by post or e rnail or in person whichever is convenient to importer.

Questions running through my mind at the moment:
  • Does anyone have experience importing RC transmitters/receivers in the last year with customs at Bangalore?
  • I have asked for two invoices declared and actual value of the goods. Which would be advisable to be submitted. Banggood says they have put the declared value on the shipment which is quite less than the actual. I have payed through Paypal which has the acutal cost so I'm confused as to what to submit. Are both invoice and mode of payment required?
  • Is the import licence/certificate required for hobbyists?
  • I've read mixed reviews about WPC certificate. Is this really required or can I just submit the Invoice and mode of payment.
  • The last point says I can submit the documents by e-mail or in person. Which would be a better approach?
