Hi

I had ordered a MJX Bugs3 from sp4mm3r, and the customs siezed the material, asked for DGCA and DGFT license, which I was not able to produce, now the item has been sent back to the sender.
My neighbour had ordered a Mould King 33041A and it was delivered home successfully without glitches.
Does anyone know what is the weight of the parcel the customs sieze?

Sad to hear these, but mostly they send the shipment back. Since the price at stake is so high they want to make some inside money or else why would they seize it. I hate the system in our country to the extreme. Mostly they will send it to seller.

Hi @rahulandy27

I even asked the person in the customs to take money, he told, he even he takes he wont be able to release since quads are restricted items in India acording to the new laws in 2014 due to some stupid people who are in the news for driving quads and heli's near restricted airspace.

I went there while my tx n rx was stuck, (talkin abt chennai customs) . They showed me loads of papers of others , there was a guy who was talking fine even after talking diplomatically they didnt heard it as some cock n bull story. They wer stuck with the line "get the noc and then take your stuff".
Then a guy game from othere office and brought the invoice for eachine quad. He wasnt even able to pronounce the name of what it is, but they said either he have to get the noc or we will ship it back (he = one who ordered).
You know its all about 100% luck , if they miss it yu will get it else its gonna get stuck.

Getting NOC from wpc is not any easy peice of cake. It takes so much time and u need to have IEC also before wpc. You also need a DGCA approval since its a plane. Getting all these three is waste of time for a single person. You can try only by means of some known personal which would ease the process a little.

My Parrot AR Drone 2.0 is stuck at Bangalore Customs. They say I need a DGCA, DGFT and WPC approval. I am pretty confident I will not be able to get those approvals by the end of the month. Is there any way to instruct them to send the package back to the seller?

Hi Folks,
I purchased a DJI phantom standard from Hong Kong.
Now the Quadcopter landed in India and held by customs.
They are asking the following
1.NOC from Wireless & Planning Commission.
2.Approval from DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation)
Please help me how to proceed further.

If the rc car as a transmitter, then yes you will need a wpc licence to release it from customs.

On a related note, i'm planning to order this https://hobbyking.com/en_us/quanum-venture-fpv-deluxe-quad-copter-set-w-dji-fatshark-afro-parts-pnf.html from Hobbyking,  since at the current price they are offering it's a steal.

so can i expect it to go through or can it get stuck in customs and never reach me??

Almost everything from hobbyking will go through customs. You can never get that quadcopter from customs if you do not have NOC.

Import licence from DGFT and NoC from DGCA. And getting either of these may also involve  NoC from local police, Min of Def, Min of Home, and any other they deem fit

What if I get the parts separately by someone.

Guys you need to understand custom, how they work in India.
First don't buy pre assembled kits from anywhere if you don't have any approach to custom department as most of LHS have in India.
Second always choose a good shipping company (DHL preferred) because they get your parcel clear from clear and take customs duty afterwards.
Third keep parcel size compact so it doesn't get attractions of inspector.

Which city are you from ? and what are the items that are being held? Items those require custom clearance can be done by visiting the custom office and providing your details. However for the items that requires special documents then custom officers will issue you a letter which will mention all the details.
