Hi, Tell them u dont need a wireless NOC because your model does not have any frequency item attached to it. Also tell them that ur model comes under "HS Code 9503 Other toys; reduced-size ( " scale " ) models & similar recreational models, working or not; puzzles of all kinds"  category. Get a copy of this code from here http://www.cybex.in/HS-Codes/Toys-Reduced-Size-Scale-Models-Heading-9503.aspx

ask them if u need permission from DGCA also?
ask them if u import a rear view mirror then will u need to get NOC from transport authority?

After all this if they dont release your parcel then ask them to give you a copy of the said rule under which they are detaining ur item and get back to me. tell them that ur item is not a banned item. if it is then give a copy of that rule/order.

Mugen Seiki Rules

I do agree that I have learnt some LHS in Delhi tipping Delhi PAD/FPO to trouble individual imports and I am myself feeling the heat for the past 3 months in Bangalore.
I have been hearing about this as well. Also spreading rumours that all parcels will be detained/destroyed is not right. Well this is really not the way LHS should go. They must bring in volumes and reduce prices which will make it useless for hobbyists to import on their own. What happens when the item you want is not available at the price you desire/afford? You import. I buy a lot of car items from LHS when I see that its stupid to import and not worth the effort.

if am right prad might have picked up the heli (hk 450 pro belt drive) from HK and it might have costed him with ems shipping "around" Rs 4300 (pls correct me if am wrong prad).. we are selling the hiller 450 pro belt drive it at rs 4500... and a hiller 450 v2 is at rs 3500... spares are available here too.. also the reason for doing this was purely to attract people to buy it locally than internationally.. again i dont blame the hobbyist as no one is advertising it including us to the level of what HK does...

sorry.. i just saw after posting that this id is from "sujju" my personal id... i mean it at our store rcbazaar for the hiller helis, just in case someone writes who is this sujju guy  Smiley ...

Hi sujju, you are absolutely right , it is a big mistake on my part , it is a learning curve .
Also I feel that probably the only reason to get from hk was the wide selection that they carry and the non availibity of things at times .
It will be a good idea to have consolidated common site on all India basis for stuff that can be ordered on line

"It will be a good idea to have consolidated common site on all India basis for stuff that can be ordered on line"... yes this is a great idea if someone can take the pains of doing this.. like the Amazon.com of india in rc products... well thought and yes all the LHSs need to support and participate in this..

Well let's not count our chicken before they hatch , let me get the parcel I my hands first ,then we uncork the champagne .

All that I said was that I have been working on this for three days and I insisted that they give me my crime of importing in writing .

Thiese three goons had a long meeting and requested me to wait for three days for results to take place , and I should expect the parcel or further intimation in writing by post Huh?.

Th Bang Head.

also if this sort of nonsense goes on we may have to get together and get a good lawyer to sort this out for all modellers concerned , as i believe that lots of members are facing similar problems , it is high time we should do get things with dignity ,like rest of the world and not behave that we are doing any crime .

Hi,
I has been almost a month ,that I have been following up with the customs at EMS and had to get my heli checked at the wireless department ,who confirmed that there was no radio in the parcel .
Now they want me to pay a penalty to get my stuff cleared .
Let see what happens .

@ Prad

It seems that you have got stuck with wrong set of people at FPO.

Just 2 weeks back I got my parcel from HK through registered post containing radio set. My parcel was examined by customs and duty of Rs.283/- charged for the entire value of parcel.

Even my parcel was delayed and took about a month to reach me. During this waiting period 1 follow up visit was done at FPO after which parcel  arrived quickly at my place.

Thanks,

Hiren

Hi , I guess you are a very lucky person , my friend just paid a fine of 5000 on a set of lipos .
The problem is only at EMS customs .

Hi ,
Have been called again day after and will visit the wireless office with a bunch of 10 or 20 guys, for a clearance .
The irony is that my parcel does not contain a radio .
It seems that the customs does not want to take responsibility , so are passing the buck to the wireless guys .
I was present when the officers were present and ,none of them wanted to sign the clearance .

Hi , the only recourse you have is to ,pay the charges for sending the parcel to the wireless dept and getting their noc for it .
It seems that the govt people are quite strict nowadays and are not ready to cut corners ,on this subject .
In which city office is your parcel stuck?
Prad.

do not visit customs office unless they request you to come and meet them. It will complicate matters.
