Title: No Situation is so bad that it can't get Worse!
Post by: ujjwaana on February 26, 2011, 04:06:29 AM
So, we all have been talking about 'Regularizing' the hobby in our country and all that.

Look at the latest restriction by US Gov on our Hobby

1. No Plane biggher than 55 pound
2. No Turbine
3. No club (flying) within 3 miles of the airport.

Since these are recommendation from FAA, my wildest nightmare is that it may well come (and welcomed) to our country as well, and in a much worse form.

I am Speechless. Period.

I had posted the second link earlier, as an example of lawmakers assisting the RC folks against unfair restrictions :

http://www.rcindia.org/rc-general-topics/support-for-rc-at-the-highest-levels-of-government/

So the second link is actually a GOOD thing for RC.

Planes above 20kg weight are rare, and would affect a tiny minority. Flying closer to 3miles of an airport is not unfair either, that is just a common sense rule we want to follow.

Remember that this was prompted due to an accident where a real plane carrying two passengers collided with an RC plane being demonstrated in a real airport, and luckily the real plane escaped with minor scuffs and the RC plane got completely destroyed.

The 2 rules completely apply but will customs make a big issue of this? This does happen in India.

Much before every one had a Laptop/Cell phone, getting hold of Cassette of an 'Adult' movie was one thing and been able to watch it on the only TV in the house hold was other.

Customs would seldom cause any problem on items other than Radio/ARF. But then you have so many LHS in the country already who know the trick. But if can't fly after having the Plane , whats the point ? If our flying fields start being frequently visited by 'Law Enforcement' goons, what can we do ? Fly Nano Heli and Planes indoors?

Wondering, just wondering, if AMAI would do a AMA feat if this happens in the Country ?
but more than anything, I would appreciate the girt of the individual flyers who are herding to Senates and Congressmen in hundreds! and they don't even have a 'Written constitution'. May be we in the country have taken our freedom for  granted.

Unfortunately, this is just a classic case of couple of people ruining it for everybody

Or may be the HD-FPV shooting of that Bridge in NY by some guy a while back!
