Phoenix rc setup with hard wired module

Hi, All

How can setup flysky th9x with frsky DYI kit into phoenix rc simulator?
I can see on some forums that we need to remove module before configuring it to simulator?
Is it true that if i hav er9x firmware on flysky th9x i can configure it with phoenix without removing hard wired module in it?
