Title: Please help me with basic questions
Post by: Snehal.Samar on July 10, 2011, 04:44:12 PM
Hi friends, :)
please help me with some basic questions.

1)CAn i use the tx while its lipo is charging?
2)CAn esc be programmed with HK 6ch 2.4 black.?
3)Is it something like Turnigy plush will have more programming featuer than HK 30A becasue the programming card is also Turnigy?
4)upto how many kv motor can be used with 30amp esc
5)when tx battery is low , reduction in range but when rxbattery low any reduction in range??
6)Any reciever needs less than 6v. So if a bec is giving  5 volts, 2A, then is it ok?? .....OR ...5v,3A would be better??
i have hk 6ch 2.4 black rx v2
7)IF i will buy 1450 mah tx lipo and i have hk6 2.4black. Do i need any extra connectors??
8)Whih one is better Plush or HK? There must be something which is not in one esc.
9)Can HK 30amp esc be used with turinigy programming card.??

Thnks
Snehal

Added these lateer: -

10)HK6ch 2.4 g (black)  What is the power in mW??
11) Is nose one really nessesary?Any uses? ( Its shining metal cone ..i dont know the exact name).
12) Is rudder really neccesary?
13) Please Recomend me a 5 min epoxy.

1) How can u use it to fly when have plugged it into the Charging wire? Otherwise also it is not Recommended to use while charging.
2) Yes ESC's can be programmed with the TX if you have the instruction manual of the ESC
3) Beginers wont require any programming unless you use folding props and separate RX Batteries
4) KV ratings and ESC's Amp rating are not related, However there will be some components in ESC which will fail due to vibrations and noise(electronic) created by high KV motors

5)Only Reduction in ur airplane's altitude!  ;D if RX voltage goes below the threshold then it will turn off! and ur airplane will crash usually called Dead Stick.
6)Higher Amp rating BEC is used where you have standard servos in use. for smaller servos Built in BEC is enough
7)Reading through the reviews some have soldered the wire so it may require some ( Need Comments from Actual Users)
8 ) Both are Chinese  8-) (again need comments from Actual Users )
9) I Donno!
10) out of syllabus for me!

11) Did u mean a Spinner ? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=14758 like this ? it is useful in high performance( won't go into details of how) and gives looks!
12) Yes Rudder is necessary for giving you directional stability in conventional airframes, even rudder less airplanes exist like flying wings, Delta, lifting bodies which require different design approaches to get the directional stability.
13) Epoxy = Araldite for me :)

Areldite is not a 5min epoxy. isn't it?

Can plane be controlled well by aeirolon and elevator only?
I need strong rubber bands, so that i could attach or remove the wings. From where can i
get them?

:headscratch: Still doubt in below question no.s :-
2) With HK6ch 2.4 only.
3)Programming feature such as voltage cutt-off.brake are good.
4)is there any chart which shows that this motor suitable for this ESC?
 and question no 7,8,9,10,13

check office supply store like Staples or stores which deal with papers and fancy items.

Bondtite Fast&Clear is a 5min epoxy and is pretty good. I presume fevitite rapid is also a 5min epoxy. Bondtite Rapid and Araldite rapid are 10min epoxies.

Answer to question no.7 : As far as I know Tx lipos come with pre-soldered jst connectors, you just plug the connector to the tx. But, before buying just make sure that the lipo comes with a jst connector or not, otherwise you will need to separately buy one and solder to the lipo, but I am pretty sure that tx lipos come with the proper connector.

Generally 2.4GHz Tx powers are nearly 4mW. But please remembe that, 4mW is the power rating of the final stage RF power amplifier. Your total Tx power demand is more. You can measure the total power demand. Just make your multimeter in mA range, connect your Tx & battery through this multimeter terminals (Actually just insert multmeter between battery terminal and Tx Terminals of any one, positive or negative, making sries connection). Now power on the Tx and move sticks, You will got readings in mA. Now multiply mA reading with battery voltage and you will get the total power requirement for your Tx in mW.

You can use the cheapest multimeter (<100/-) also for this measurement.

If your Tx battery is LiPO, then it would be 3S~~ 11.1 volt but not 12 volt. But during use, 12 volt pack (8 nos 1.5V Alkaline cell) can definitely give better voltage.at starting but reduces with use. NiMH/NiCd rechargables also give less voltage like 1.2 x 8 = 9.6 volt. So, your TxBattery indicator will show medium/low voltage after a while, but it will be steady for long time than Dry cells.

You can Control ur airplane using aileron and elevator or rudder and elevator...

2) yes you can program all the features using any radio!

3) I GUESS those features are bare mininum in all ESC's so it must be there in SS and Plush ones....

4) Nope! u can use any motor to Any ESC if ur Current and Max Cell are with in the range, however few ESC's will have problems with the components which fail when used with a Particular motor and the factor which cause problem will be pointed out my the manufacturer to avoid it

Thnks kalyan and Rohit sir
what no, in rx denotes what controls? for example 3rd one is for esc.

http://www.rcfoamcrafters.com/motor_chart/index.html
Is this chart correct?

If i am buying things form HK , then what total weight should i keep? Is 750gms safe?

i have made a fuselage with 4pieces of coro and wing. How will i know the center of gravity and where to place my wings on the fuselage?
