Title: quadcopter of nano category detained by customs(bangalore) on 11/2017
Post by: HANZAla PATEL on January 31, 2019, 09:08:19 PM
A friend of mine ordered eachine e58 quad with 3extra lipos on 11/11/2017. This quad was to be delivered in 15 days but customs detained it for unspecified reason we got letter from customs. Then we contacted customs in November but custom officer said that they couldn't let quads to be imported from other countries the postal service which we chosed was turkey post. When we track this shipment they tell that it's delivered
And this quad comes under nano category. My friend tried and waited for so long but the situation remains same.
Since this happened year ago Can anybody help or suggest what to do?????

Forget the drone, They will never deliver it .
I too ordered a toy grade helicopter in Nov 2017 but it got detained and I was sent three custom letters and Rs 500 penalty demand.
Last letter was for confiscation of helicopter bcoz it had a 2.4 GHz remote which needs WPC permission letter.
The custom officer says it will be destroyed in fire but in reality they are stored in big store rooms.
They have 1000+ drones in a store room including DJI Phantom .

Then it comes under nano category. You no need to give any certificate for it. For more details visit DGCA website and click on remotely pilotted aircraft system.

In the attached document screenshot explains there is no restrictions for nano category.
ETA still required even it comes under nano category.
Import of RC toys are banned even its a nano drone.
If the toy works in 2.4 Ghz frequency then its banned to import and required ETA from WPC wing from your respective zones to release from the customs.
Failing to submit the ETA letter will result in detention , fine on the importer & confiscation of imported goods.

There is no ETA required if it operates in 2.4GHz.
