Has anyone recently bought 5.8G Drone from China? Either from Banggood or Aliexpress? And they told me that if the product is held by customs and I never receive the drone, they will refund the payment. However, when I was browsing ebay for local availabily I came across a seller stating that "DO NOT BUY FROM ANY INTERNATIONAL SELLER, INDIAN CUSTOM DETAIN YOUR DRONE AND THEY WILL CHARGE PENALTY AS DRONE IMPORT IS NOT ALLOWED." I know that there might be customs problem depending on your luck, but will there be any penalty apart from customs duty? That too even when I don't receive the product? Or the seller is misleading buyers to make profits. Please help....

I am planning to buy UPair chase as a starter... Let me know if this is a right choice?

Samayaraj, thank you for your reply...

I am ready to pay customs duty, but will the drone be processed from customs? I hear they hold the products and destroy. Also there won't be penalty (not duty) right?

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

A banned item means that: Banned

If you are incredibly lucky, there is maybe a 0.1% chance it will come through unscathed

Probability is Customs will simply confiscate it

Penalty comes when you bring in a dutiable item, and don't declare it, or when you falsify description/value. This can be a criminal offence
