Title: Selling junk in the name of RC
Post by: hangingtough on July 21, 2013, 07:38:24 PM
dear friends,

I am bitten again by the so called For sale column of my dearest forum

http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale-completed/skyartech-wasp-x3-rtf/

Purchased the heli @ Rs 5000 , i thought it was a good deal.

But below is what i got

First try - Dead Heli : I connected the heli and tried to give throttle. Nothing  just beep from the motor.

Second try - Heli bind again : Checked the net to understand that these heli have some problem of binding.
A lot of fiddling the heli just keeps beeping and suddenly it just goes full throttle....
 - Bend boom
 - Head linkage broken

Third attemp
Configured the TX to see if the throttle is wrongly programmed.
But the Throttle does not seem to connect whereas all the other controls are easily working in the pc.
Why the throttle only shows 100%

So whats wrong.......
Opened the TX and found the tracks of throttle are resoldered.

My seller has would be trying to convert the mode and instead broke the tracks on PCB. WOW
- luckily i am a electronics engineer and can understand the cause.....

So i have no option but to call my seller a cheat, who is selling junk to other peole on the pretext of good deal.

With these kind of people this hobby will be doomed....

RIP - Skyartec Wasp X3 and my dear Seller

You should expose the seller, with full name (not just forum name), and leave negative trader feedback.

Sometimes you need to do what has to be done... period.

I've soldered on inexpensive PCB fixing old toys but by no means am I an expert.  However, hangingtough presents compelling evidence of repair work that suggest something was wrong with the product.

I don't know the terms such as if there was a "no refund clause" or all sales are final, etc.  but if the seller was honest they should try to resolve the problem.

I purchased this heli from rcskyhobby.com delhi in the month of March and during these three month I never opened any components of heli as I am new to this hobby.  I dont dare to open any components as not sure with electronics.  And sir is complaining about these issues which I was not aware till date abt the heli as I was working when I dispatched it.

Okay, fair that both sides heard.  Buyer still feels like they wasted their time and money.  Complaints of sour transactions, if can't be resolved by PMs, should be made public in terms of trader ratings.

Bottom line, unless they buyer knows and trust the seller as well as the terms of the sale, then always it should be "Buyer Beware."

There is a lesson here for anyone buying helis and quads.  Ask the seller to post a video of the item in flight.

And it is strange that no one asked for pictures of the actual item in the for sale thread. Not that it is particularly helpful in this case, but helis are delicate machines with many (moving) parts, and buying without seeing the item in detail is never a good idea.

I am also not sure why a newcomer to the hobby has spares of OS engines for sale.

Dear anwar sir,

I have mailed the buyer recent high resolution pics on his personal id as per his requirements. And sir I had bought this os engine long back from mumbai from siddharth aero modelling during my school days. But shortage of fund limited me entering this hobby now as I am working I started this hobby. And the personal who bought os engine got the backplate damaged due to courier people. Then also I am replacing the backplate soon. And actual I have oss in os engine deal just because of courier peoples fault.  I am not a cheater or lier.

I meant to say having loss in os engine deal then also ordered backplate and giving replacement to the gentlemen who bought engine from me. And people think that I cheated them.

Two important points IMHO

1. Anwar sir's comment on checking the product
2. Gusty sir's (rcpilotacro) comment on marring reputation

I, for one, will be extra cautious in dealing

Hi everyone,

The heli is repaired and flying...

Thanks to my ingenious effort on repairing the TX tracks. Now the heli is all good and flying
1. Repaired the blade holder connector linkage to swash plate, weak but flying
2. Repaired tracks on TX
3. Repaired the bend tail boom

As a true RCian, i am now happy flying leaving all past in trash.

End of post

The heli was sold on july 8th according to forum post, 2 weeks later this has been posted, assuming a week for shipping you didnt check the heli on arrival? and waited a week to post this?
Being an electronics engineer repairing tracks must be quite easy for you right? why post this at all?
Notifying is one thing but it was an easy fix for you. No offence meant. Even if xtreme was trying to change the mode why will someone with no knowledge of circuits try to change configuration of tracks on controller PCB when he easily can do the same on the transmitter sticks.
