Gusty saheb, it's old, but the fundas are well explained, and remain valid till date. I ha saved it as a Word Document some years ago.

sir

some of the things about xtal, et al..aren't relevant anymore. yeah simplicity wise certainly +1 on that

Sent to Krish, Guru, Bilawar

Gusty sir, Yes, Xtal is outdated in the age of ppm/pcm 2.4 Ghz, but many flyers who just buy RTF & Arfs don't know the basics of building, fitting controls, fuel systems etc. This brings a lot of value and is, I believe, a "must-read"

It would have been great if it was updated, but as they have stopped many years ago, it's all that's available

Word document is good, one can print, and keep in the bathroom, thus 5 minutes reading daily  ;D ;D

I really recommend reading these. Even people who say they are 'intermediate' flyers should read....it can be an eye opener.

Beginners, if you read through these, keeping in mind the advances in technology (especially electronics) you will have a better understanding of the hobby, fly safer, and have a lot of your questions and doubts answered

Nik:

This appears to be your very first post in this forum.

1. It is considered extremely ill-mannered to use all CAPS. Tantamount to shouting.
2. You have not included an e-mail address
3. 5 key strokes is all it takes to write 'please'

Nitesh: some things are very useful:

1. Fundas of flying
2. Control set-up
3. Construction methods

Technology has leapfrogged since this was written, but I feel it's really worth knowing

In fact I have met quite some expert" pilots, who for example had not set their fuel tank, or servos correctly, and were hassled about what was wrong  :D  :D

Swizera: you are most welcome!  :D :D

Guys; please do not forget to read 'up & away' the link of which is given higher up in this thread. This is a real way of evaluating your flying proficiency. In fact, AMAI has adopted the qualification procedure for awarding the 'B' Certificate.

Speaking for myself, I write "Beginner" and will continue to do so till I reach that level of proficiency 99 times out of 100 sorties

(I don't think I will ever get there though    )

sir, today my H.O.D ask me what does KV in brushless motor mean. i said KV multiply by voltage applied is equal to RPM of the motor. which i red on internet. but he said what does KV mean (Kilo volt or something els). can any one solve this prob..

Title: Re: Sig Basics of RC
Post by: iamahuman on July 30, 2014, 12:07:08 AM
"KV" does mean "Kilo Volt". "Kv" is a motor constant which gives the free rotation speed of a motor per volt.

still confused ??? ???  what is the full form of "KV"

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_constants (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motor_constants)

Seems like kV stands for kilo volt. I stand corrected on that.

For all RC related things, kv stands for the motor constant.
