Title: Soft landing gear and a solution
Post by: anwar on August 19, 2010, 11:26:43 AM
At our main field in Qatar... someone had less than perfect landing gear, and the solution is towards the end of the video.

Not a good idea in terms of safety !

Ranjan  :salute:,
just feel the actual thrust of an actual plane by standing at the rear of the prop or turbine....
I bet you have never felt the power of engine of actual plane.....
i have experience of one airline jet thrust just before takeoff in Delhi.......boeing 737
I was with my friend who was with Airforce, he took me to a place from where the runway starts, there i saw one 737 waiting for take off clearance i waited and the turbines suddenly started roaring and i cover my ears and turn around, i can feel the push on my spine, the power was tremendous.......i cannot write that here......but was .....really great...
on checking the technical person he told me that when we were standing at the starting of the runway and the 737 was standing approx 100 mtr from us, that time 737 started with approx 37000 pound of thrust......whooshhhhh. and it took off from the ground in 37 sec approx

Anwar,

Definetly not good from safety point of view. But incase one is forced in such situation he needs to have that good a model & ofcourse not the least the skill to land it  ;) ;)
