Hey Everyone!

After the recent changes in laws regarding RC in India, Local Hobby Shops have been stocking less RC stuff. Also, it's cheaper to buy from foreign online stores like Banggood, HobbyKing, AliExpress etc.

The problem with those websites is it takes a long time to ship and not everyone has a PayPal account. I've been ordering RC stuff for myself from the above mentioned websites almost weekly for the past 6 months and have never had any problems regarding shipping, customs or product quality.

I'm starting this thread so people who don't have international cards (or PayPal) can post requests here and people who frequently order stuff from there can add the requested products to their order.

There are many advantages to this:

1) Locally unavailable products can be bought at a low cost.
2) Lower shipping cost due to combined orders.
3) More points per purchase.

I order stuff from foreign websites every 1-2 weeks. Feel free to post your requests so I (or some other members) can get your RC stuff.

I can also get robotics stuff from US stores (like robotshop, sparkfun etc). 

Even better: combine multiple orders, involve a freight forwarding company, and get stuff airfreighted! Will take less time, be cheaper shipping, and can get Lipos, Models, maybe Radios. Yes, Customs Duty applicable

Its $20 excluding shipping. How much it will cost to me.

My last order was for 24.15 dollars and the amount deducted from my paypal connected account was  1680.02.

That's  69.566 per dollar (I don't know if any taxes were included because that's not the current exchange rate).

So, it would cost you (69.566x19.99) =  1391 (excluding shipping)

Should we wait for other people to post requests for HK products so shipping can be divided?

Well its dissapointing that rc stores in india don't have enough batteries combination or good batteries like graphene and are also become very expensive especially high cell voltage batteries.

More then the ban of RC flying in cities, the lack of cheap batteries and HK refusal to ship it to india for some 4 years now has made RC surface and air loose interest in our country.

For plane flyers and large multirotors one could even assemble batteries using 18650 or 20700.
Other uses include flashlights,diy power banks, Electric vehicles,laptop,power tools etc.

The propellers, certainly. But, they won't ship batteries.

I'll be ordering stuff worth $100 from HobbyKing and $50 from banggood for a friend by the end of next week (29th April). If anyone needs anything from those stores, please let me know before then.

Ali express has stores that ship lipo to india via turkey post .. i will order a few this next weekend . Not sure if they will reach me :/

Which battery did you order and what shipping option did you choose?

Lipos are excellent.... But if u don't want a lot of power at once ( as in a quad) ..consider. Buying 18650 batteries and making your own custom battery...
Its cheaper and has almost twice the capacity of a lipo...
Can be used only for airplanes though...and not small airplanes..

If you set your location as 'India' and open any battery page, the options 'Buy it now' and 'Add to cart' are both grayed out (can not be clicked). However, if you set the location as 'US', they become active again. No airline wants to take the risk of LiPo batteries.

Those who fly planes and large multirotors or even high efficent medium size multirotors, we could import 18650 with IMR chemistry, the same kind used in Tesla cars and power tools. You could then make it from 1s to 12s and  1p to 6p the combinations is endless.
Not to mention people who use them in flashlights,e-cig etc.

Consistently all those long duration flight time youtube videos where all done with 18650 packs.These are much safer and is designed to operate as high as 70 degree C temperature (damage occurs at 100c temperature) and discharge as low as 2.5v without damage.They don't Puff.

Now there are even bigger sizes 21700 which can dicharge as high as 40a with capacity of 3000mah.The same size is going to be used in Tesla Model 3 and newer model S.

So anyone willing to look at this option via sea route.

That's the thing. Not a lot of people fly heavy and efficient setups. More and more people are turning to racing quads and indoor micro quads. So, importing a large quantity of 18650 via sea won't seem viable to any LHS.

I'd like to request Indian stores to import LiPos via sea or land as there seems to be a huge demand right now.

We can ask them to label the receiver package as 'computer accessories'. I did that with a 433MHz long range system once and it arrived without any issues. Also, the receiver will be a small package so they won't check it.

Not one single LHS seems interested in importing Graphene batteries, I guess they don't want to sell batteries that can take a beating or last for several hundred charge/discharge cycles.

The problem is that sellers can't ship them to India due to restrictions.

As a wholesale customer we can get lipos from Hobbyking as well from any other manufacturer.
As you know there is a risk in storing the lipos as well performance doubt from the buyers if it is old.
We have established a exclusive website for lipos http://www.rchlipos.com but ended up with dead stock.
It is not possible to stock many lipos without understanding your need.

Fpv racing quads are getting more and more powerful and the only batteries that can take abuse are graphene based ones, they also hold really good IR even after a year or more.

People who buy something like a 6s 10000mah or more pack, those batteries cost a lot, again graphene based ones are still better. Neither a customer nor a seller don't want batteries to puff for no reason, in storage.

The other option is to use 18650/21700 which have all kinds of use from RC,flashlights,e-cigurates,power banks,cordless power tools,laptops, EV conversions you name it.

Some of my 18650 batteries are 7 years old and they still work great, albiet with a loss of 30% capacity.

Kumaran sir, would it be possible for you to import LiPos if the following conditions are met?
1) We first create a list here based on which LiPos we need.
2) The list has a large enough quantity of LiPos to make it viable for you to import them.

Banggood has small stuff and accessories like MG servos, XT 60 and jst connectors, propellers, LEDs etc. at really low prices. The prices for sets of 3, 5 and 10 such items are even lower. Maybe we can get such sets together and then divide them among ourselves according to our requirements.
