Happy is a man whose hobby is his profession

Hi

I own a Honda twister and was wondering what will be the best way to carry my TB-20 plane to field. How do/did you carry your planes on bikes? I have explored some options like saddle bags but couldn't find a big one to carry a plane. Solution with reference to product sit/info will be helpful.

Please dont ask me to buy a car as a solution  Giggle

Regards

Get a Pillion rider ! ask him/her to hold the airplane wing removed, ride slow avoid hard braking! some one or the other always helped me when i was yet to get hold of my dad's car!

You can get a bag made for the plane which is specifically made to fit your bike . Or get a side cart and put it in that !

Yes Sahevaan

I am looking at that solution..but not able to find a vendor yet. Do you happen to know any such person ? I had a look at cramster stallion..but they are too small.

Side cart will be too much hassle. Mono trailer like these would be cool though.

Hopefully I will go to Baner field tomorrow with my current bag..lets see how it turns out to be Smiley

HYDRO PLANER.....

it is easy to make a box appropriate to hold an aircraft.. can make from 6 mm plywood, with twin "U" clamps at main end.. can fix it just above the saree guard, with tow metal strips, along with two ear nuts.. works well.. you can line in the box with soft felt, with u foam , saves craft from scratches.. can divide in to two sections, as one for airctaft and one for wing.. can also add one base plate as opening, with two cup board hinges, so can fix the plane inside while the landing gears goes outside, and just close the door from outside.. two press locks works well on door.. you can also fix this box just above the exhaust silencer, just over the grab rails with same metallic strips and ear nuts.. and make sure the size and type of your box, is appropriate for your craft.. without taking a little pain nothing will come..an RC model is like a chubby baby.. extreme care should be taken when in travel.. so a good box is a must.. with inner soft lining.. have nice RCying.. Thumbs Up

I have been thinking of attending the Pinjore meet of AMA and  I am confused as to how attendees transport their equipments to meets which are far away from their location (like Mumbai to Pinjore).

I would like to know your experiences and methods of moving the equipment to and fro and also would like to be suggested ways to transport my own stuff from Goa to Pinjore and back.

Thanks

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

The main problem arises when the horizontal stab is fixed in. Intricate packaging needs to be done. I have shifted models (by road) fom Del to Bom and back.

when it comes to the stabilizer and tail, if you can detach it, put blocks of foam between them, and masking tape it down tight....
that will keep it rigid.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

I was amazed by this thing when I saw it in use the first time a few years back.  But it was in the US, and not sure if it is available locally.

If they are available locally at affordable rates and in bigger sizes, then transporting the tail sections of planes would be simplified.

This should give you plenty of ideas.  You have enough sheet metal artisans in India they can make something similar.
