Title: Travelling By Air In India & Abroad With a DJI Phantom Post by: rimplesanchla on May 27, 2017, 11:25:19 AM Hi friends. Can i carry DJI phantom 3 with 1 extra battery in domestic flights. First time i had carried from mumbai to delhi and from delhi to leh. Everything was fine while going I had my return flight from srinagar. Even srinagar airport allowed. I had tough time at delhi airport. The security called me at the area where all check in baggages are scanned. Finally in 15-20 minutes all everything was sorted and they allowed the drone and battery in check-in baggage. I had already kept them seperately. Even in mumbai everything was fine. Post that i am scared to carry drones in flight. Now i want to take drone in domestic flights as well as international flights. Please help me with the following questions:
1. Is drone (without batteries) allowed to be carried in hand baggage? or only checkin baggage? 2. Batteries are allowed in hand baggage or check-in baggage? 3. I read many thread where it says, people have paid customs duty and fine. But i have bought this in india, i carried it from mumbai and then bringing it back to mumbai. Why should i pay customs? 4. Internationally i plan to take it germany, france, swiss, etc in europe. Has anyone experienced what are the issues when u carry them in international flights? Hi, recently I was traveling out of India and was carrying a small 250 size drone , Just like you I thought if I have bought it in India I should be allowed to bring it back as long the custom endorses It ( as I have done before with few expensive electronic items ) but to my surprise when I asked the custom desk In Mumbai they seem very ignorant and gave a vague reply " all drone going in or out of the country is illegal & will be seize ) when asking for fore information they pointed me to a sign board for customs ... >:( In return they asked if I could help them to buy some alcohol from duty free :banghead: .... BY the way I was carrying the drone is my hand baggage . sometimes I have been told to carry the lipo in hand luggage by the carrier . Its always best to talk to ur carrier first regarding their rules for Lipo , also it goes without saying that all lipo should be in storage mode & In a lipo fireproof bag . cheers  Title: Re: Travelling By Air In India & Abroad With a DJI Phantom Post by: rimplesanchla on May 29, 2017, 12:55:33 PM Thank you so much guys!
