Wow, how do you know? There are 1400 pilots registered on IDRL and thats just for those registrees. There are bound to be many more pilots not registered. My estimate is closer to 3000.

i think around 5-8k for strictly fpv.. usually there are many who get into this hobby for fun ...and they dont take part in events and register etc...
also since a lot of people use dji products the numbers and distinction boundary between fpv and other types get blurred....

Dji products are not fpv. I think about 1-2k ppl have fpv drone equipment, Out of that 100 might be regular fliers. 20-30 come to events. Speaking for fpv drones. Not all fields of rc, as it's no point counting them.

There may be a good number of FPV fliers who are not visible... some are in college labs some are not part any forums or whatsapp groups. They just fly. I personally know few of them in my city's vicinity who are totally hidden but fly often.

Comparing to fixed wing... drones (fpv may be) seems less demanding in terms of fields especially in India where we don't have many organised flying fields and fast losing most of the fields to construction work.

So many fpv fliers are not part of any groups in search of the field and remain invisible.
