Title: How to bring my personal RC planes into India?
Post by: rcflyr on May 11, 2017, 12:45:48 PM
Greetings fellow RC pilots. I have moved from the U.S. to Hyderabad. The company that is hired to bring my household items, furniture etc. tells me they can't ship my RC planes and equipment to India. They tell me that they were told this by customs in Mumbai. Yet I see a major RC club in Mumbai and RC stores in India. I do understand that I will pay import duties.
What do I need to do to get a letter that says I can bring my models?

Thanks,

Mike

i tried to import a V977 Helicopter, the customs asked me for NOC from the WPC ...... , End of story ! My model is somewhere going back to china after spending a couple of months in the Indian foreign Post office.

So when I see all of the on line photos of clubs, members and models how did they get them here? Especially the giant scale and turbine models!

Hi,

There are possible ways, try to find the middlemen who get things sorted out for you. Specially if you can find some link in customs.
All  is happening that way. On paper they will demand NOC and IE code. but if you have some strong influence you can get the things pretty easy.

Also you can ship some rc items from US via Bombino courier. it will come without any hassles.

FOr models you can try to sell them there and then later buy here from rcdhamaka.
